Chromatic Calibration: Bio-Optic Killshades

This achievement requires you to craft all seven Bio-Optic Killshades and will reward the cosmetic appearances for each, even if they are a different armour type than the character crafting them. According to PTR data, the appearances will be available on all non-Engineer characters upon completion of Chromatic Calibration: Bio-Optic Killshades. This achievement can be completed on a single Engineering character, as all armor type patterns were made available in the Dragonflight prepatch. The goggles are BoE and you could try and sell them on the Auction House once you've crafted them for the achievement.

You can learn all the patterns from the Engineering trainer (Alliance: [npc=5518] / Horde: [npc=11017]), and you'll need Cataclysm Engineering (75) to craft these items.

60 obsidium ore (for bolts)
420 elementium ore 84 volatile earth (Hardened Bars)
42 pyrite ore, 70 volatile fire, 70 volatile air, 70 volatile water (Truegold)
28 volatile air (Electrified Ether x42)
Chaos Orbs - trivial buy off AH
Ruby 2, Sapphire 8, Emerald 4: Get lucky while mining the mats.
Then go to AH for the shortfall...

Professions Required:
You'll need an alchemist for the Truegold and a miner to create the Hardened bars from the ores.
Finally your own engineering skill to make the items themselves.

Where to gather the ore:
I have levelled Cataclysm Engineering on an alt this weekend...

Obsidium Ore: Vashj'ir > 'The Shimmering Expanse' - trust me this is hands down the fastest place to mine this ore in 2023.
Elementium Ore: Twilight highlands -follow the riverbed of the estuary and along the mountain ridge North towards Grim Batol dung.
Pyrite Ore: Same area as Elementium Ore.
