Kil'jaeden starts casting a spell for like 8 seconds in order to enter the phase where adds spawn when he gets dropped to 40%. In BFA it is possible to burst the boss down before he finishes the cast. Use BL at about 55% and all CDs at around 45% and with a decently geared 6+man group it is quite doable and much easier than the legion method.

Everyone else beat me to the references, so I guess I'll post some info about the actual achieve :(

During the second intermission phase which starts at 40%, several Shadowsoul adds will spawn. They look like Netherlords and do nothing but channel Destabilized Shadowsoul, doing damage to the raid after an 8 second channel. The first channel starts right as Kil'Jaeden takes off, and there are 5 adds. These casts are not interruptible, but can be stopped with stuns/grips/disorients/blinds etc. If anyone has a talent they can spec into for more CC, it would be worth taking for this.

However it isn't as simple as keeping them all from casting and killing them off, since the second intermission phase also adds the Deceiver's Vale, which makes everyones view distance very short (8 yards) and causing your screen to be blacked out around the edges. This means that adds not close to you will need people sitting on them the entire time to ensure they can be CC'd. Illidan will also come down during this phase on the west side of the platform. Standing near him gives you a DoT for 20 seconds that let's you see 40 yards instead of 8, which will greatly help ranged kill multiple adds.

As you're pushing the phase, and BEFORE the fog makes it impossible to see them, all the adds have already spawned, and you can assign several people to go to each add to keep it locked down. Given their random spawn, and how spread they are, Death Knights will help immensely for this achieve, as multiple DK's can grip all the adds together and a Blood DK could Gorefiend them. That said other classes that have knockbacks could help group these things up and interrupt them similarly, such as Druids with Typhoon and Ele Shammies with Thuderstorm. They drop pretty quick and you really only have to kick them 2-4 times depending on your DPS.

As a final note, its worth picking a kill order for them and have them focused down. Even a large group likely won't have enough CC for all of them forever and so rather than trying to keep 5 locked down while we cleave them, single target nuking them (at least until they're close together) means that they're getting less casts off overall.

As a post-final note, keep in mind that doing this achieve on Mythic means you'll be getting Rupturing Singularities during this phase, so you'll need classes that don't have to worry about knockbacks to take care of the corner adds so that they don't get knocked off while trying to stop a cast.
