For my part, the buff I associate with the glyphs, telling you you're nearby and what direction, as well as the chat text "You sense a nearby skyriding glyph", only showed up for three of the eleven glyphs -- and one of those, it continued to pop and direct me towards a glyph I had already collected. The rest I could land nearby, and still receive no indication there was a glyph nearby.
