Exploration Mission Specialist

Garrison exploration missions are occasionally offered to you, but there are very few, three are level 90, and three are rare, so don't hold your breath. They have a map next to the name, instead of crossed swords. To get credit for this and related achievements, you can't just complete the mission, the mission must be successful (i.e. you earn the mission reward).

The icon for this mission looks like a treasure map.

It took me more than 900 completed missions before I finally saw one mission with a treasure map.

With the release of patch 6.1, you will be able to buy a [item=122606] from your Garrison quartermaster for (5x [item=87399]) that will spawn a Exploration Garrison Mission.

Why do this you ask? Because 15+ new exploration missions have been added in Patch 6.1 and completing all of them awards Exploration Mission Master. In addition, Exploration Mission Master is required for Don't Call Me Junior which awards the awesome (and highly valuable) follower [follower=465]!

Easy Way to Get [item=87399]

1. 
   
2. Buy Mote of Harmony or Spirit of Harmony from the Auction House.
   (Or you can go to Pandaria and farm them yourself if you want. You gotta go there anyways.)

4. Once you have as many Spirit of Harmony as you need, head to your factions shrine in Pandaria.

6. Visit the Spirit of Harmony vendor in your faction shrine (Horde: [npc=66685] / Alliance: [npc=66678])
7. 
   
8. Purchase 1x [item=87399] for 3x Spirit of Harmony in unlimited quantity, until you have all you need.
