The temporary mounts (aka brooms) do NOT count for this achievement. Don't bother "farming" them if you aim for the achievement.
You can always buy the 60% ground mounts, which are what around 10g..And if you have this/this done, the mounts cost 8g, and there are three or so different colors of the mounts, depending on faction (16 60%speed for Alliance, 15 60% speed for Horde). So thats around fifteen mounts right there, and you only spent about 120g (if exalted).
