Fourth War Mining Techniques

Most of the ore ranks are simple to get - mine stuff, if you get a quest item go complete it, repeat for each rank. Most will be rank 3 by the time you reach max mining skill.

However, Osmenite is a bit confusing and annoying to obtain if your miner didn't do BFA content. Here is a simple-ish guide to unlock rank 3 Osmenite mining in 2023:

- Unlock Nazjatar
- Unlock WQ in Nazjatar - after you first arrive in Newhome you get a quest from Magni that starts a chain you must complete to unlock WQs.
- Talk to [npc=154408] in to learn rank 1
- To learn rank 2, start by looting a [item=168081]. I found this [object=326411] with a unique ID and a really high drop rate according to wowhead - and looted it first try. (Note: this is also a world drop with 1% or less from most trash mobs, low chance from ore nodes, etc.)
- Complete the quest What Will It Mine? (given to you by [item=168081])
- After you kill Avarius the first time, you can now loot [item=167012] which enables you to spawn and kill Avarius daily. The rank 2 recipes are not 100% drop rate, but I got the first on day 1 and the second on day 2 so they should be high.
- Rank 3 is obtained by mining Osmenite ore/veins.

Was only missing these Osmenite ones, this will take many hours and RNG, so unless you really-really want to do this achiement, I would advice to look away for your sanity.
After looting both of the quest items (3 Avarius kills, sounds little but 3 brine axes don't magically appear) I had to mine about 20-30 normal Osmenite deposits for the rank 3 quest, but for the seam which there is much less off, I had to mine at least 40-50, to compare, there are probably around 10 seams up in total in Nazjatar if they are all up at the same time, only in caves so not too bad but still time consuming. The Rank 3 for Osmenite Seam is the real pain... took me about 150 Seams until i got it.
Go over to [object=325874] and copy the waypoints to fasten this process a bit.
