Hello everyone. Since there is not actual guide available, I decided to write my own (by guide, read "tips & tricks") in order to help getting your own cool [item=93662].
First of all, you need the 11 firsts heroic modes to complete the upper part of the meta-achievement. As now (05/18/13), the hardest is by far Heroic Animus, and Council/Megaera/Durumu are also quite rough but further gear upgrade will simplify things a lot.
Furthermore, we have did all of theses on 10 normal mode, so it might be inaccurate for other mode/difficulty. Here is a list of the 12 achievements:
- Lightning Overload: Jin'rokh the Breaker - (really easy difficulty) -
The goal of this achievement is to cross 2 chasing orbs caused by focused lightnings. The strategy for this is dumb as hell, and you do not need to have a specific raidcomp. As long as only ranged and healers can be targeted by orbs, get everybody mounted except tanks/melee and just kite it until the second orb pops out.The only trick I can give you is to have your first orb-kiters go clock wise, and the second in the opposite way, because the first orb is going to be REALLY fast in the end.
You do not have to kill the boss to complete the achievement, so if you have not enough gear and need to down the boss with a clean way (4 waters etc..), you can just wipe and kill it on "normal" mode.
- Cretaceous Collector: Horridon - (medium difficulty) -
The goal of this achievement is to kill Horridon without killing down any of the 4 dinomancers spawning all along the boss encounter. The easier way to do this is to bring a 3rd tank, make him catch the dinomancer on each gate and take them until Horridon dies. Expect from this, the strategy remains unchanged.
The last tank gear required is not particulary high (we did it with an offspec ~495ilvl), but he is going to take a large amount of damage at the end of the fight, so don't forget to have every one cooldowns up + bloodlust (Jalak + Horridon + 4 dino at the same time can be a bit overwhelming).
A last few useful things we noticed:
- Don't try to kite Dinomancers, they run like Bolt
- Be careful about the Dino's lifes and the 3rd tank dps on them, they have less than a million HP and are here for a long time
- Call your dps to NOT dps the dino, just ask your 3rd tank to taunt them as soon as they spawn, ask a non-dot dps to help kick and dps them to 50%, click the orb to lock the door and return to the normal strategy until next one
- Beacon of light are handy, because your healers may have few range problems
- Cage Match: Council of elders - (really easy difficulty) -
The goal here is to not let any of the 4 trolls (and the summoned Loas) go out of the large circle, the one beyond all dragons on the floor. So this is quite easy, there is only three ways to get a mob outside of this:
- by tanking one of the trolls outside
- by being targeted by Kazra'jin
- by being targeted by a corrupted Loa during the overpower of Mar'liSo do not be outside of the circle at any time and keep going with the normal strategy. Simply as it. The only tip that come into my mind is to not interrupting anything except for placing the mobs at the pull or if a mob is in the sand. And also maybe don't hesitate to suicide yourself if you are targeted by an undps'd corrupted loa and you cannot kite him longer.
- One-Up: Tortos - (easy difficulty / RNG) -
The goal of this achievement is to hit 5 whirling turtles (or more) in one throw. It may looks hard but it is not at all, just a little bit random. All you have to know is that at 20% hp, Tortos spawn turtles three by three with nearly no pause until it dies. What you have to do here is to go exactly as you perform on normal mode until ~25%, keep 2 or 3 turtles on the floor (preferably on far from each other to increase chances) and throw them at around 5% Tortos hp. At this point pray to hit enough whirling turtles on the way, but this is extremely easy as there is a huge amount of turtles bouncing on the room at this time. I also recommend to not spread out too much, as it increase the proximity between whirling turtles.
But don't worry, this is really simplier as it looks like, you would be surprised as almost everybody just allready got this "by accident" from previous kill.
- Head Case: Megaera - (medium difficulty) -
The goal here is to ignore each head during Megaera normal event, obviously one at a time (so this part of the achievement requires 3 weeks). As long as you reached to kill it on normal mode, the achievement one is not much harder, it just requires a little bit of coordination.
Ignoring frozen head: Most of the raid got this part of the achievement with normal kills, because many people considers the blue head mechanic really anoying. Here you just have coordinate you debuff dispelling and prepare to runs away from the green explosions. Beware on the last heads, the firedot must be dispelled asap (or Hand of Purity) because it ticks really hard, and green orbs almost pop as soom as the last one has exploded.
Ignoring venomous head: For this one, you may allready got this if you have down the boss on heroic because we do not focus green head on this difficulty. Other way, this is also a quite easy, don't forget there is a synergy between blue and red one. The blue laser remove the existing flames on the floor, and it remove ice on the floor when a player run through it.
Ignoring flaming head: Maybe the trickiest, be sure to have your casters spread out, they will have to run a lot during last heads and need to pop defensives cooldowns if they are trapped between green and blue crap. And your melee to not sitting on the green flares, as usual. For those who are particulary in trouble with handling the blue laser, don't forget gateways are really welcome here, and stacking them as much as possible on the floor is really appreciated. And here is a gif "how to use it properly".

- Soft Hands: Ji'Kun - (extreme difficulty) -
The goal of this achievement is to catch an egg and preserve to break it until the Ji'Kun death. This is, by far, the hardest of all twelve achievements, because there is a lot of ways to fail it. There is few things you need to keep in mind:
- the egg spawns on the 4th nest (1st up) as soon as the combat starts, it starts to flight up around the nest and it fall off after ~20sec
- when you have the egg, you break it if you die, fall off the plateform, use anything except the throwing extrabutton, and if you take any damage from anything except quills and the feed pools
- you have a 30% slow speed debuff when carrying the eggTo my mind, the simpliest strategy is as following:
- Burn the first nest quick
- Send a fast character in the 4th nest to grab the egg (you can negate the speed debuff with wolf form, cheetah, pursuit with 3 hopo etc..)
- Make a priest grip the egg-carrier on the main plateform with leap of faith
- Run like hell everytime there is caw casted by the boss (go FAR from everyone)
- Find a way to not fall everytime there is a Down Draft (monk tiger's lust, priest feather/bauble...)
You're certainly going to be pissed off by the hatchlings randomly casting a thing to the carrier at 5% of the boss or so. Just don't forget to keep cleaning nests to avoid add spawning, as long as you dont need enrage I think it's the safiest way to do.
However, we did not found a way to make it without a priest for the leap of faith, I don't know if it is bugged or something but everytime we tried to throw the egg to the main plateform, it broke instantly for some reason. If anyone has found how to deal with this issue, i would love to complete this part of the guide.
- You Said Crossing the Streams Was Bad: Durumu the forgotten - (medium difficulty) -
This achievement consist of revealing 3 "non-basic" colored adds on Durumu's event. This is not a hard one but the normal excecution of the strategy must be done almost flawlessly, because you will take a lot of damage during spectrum phases (because of the extra-duration of the phase and the extra-damage of steam stacking). Do not hesitate to 2 tanks and 3~4 heal this, as long as you do not hit the enrage, you cannot reveal more than 1 extra-add at each phase, so it takes at least 3 (and at most, since enrage comes after the 3rd death ray phase).
In order to reveal the 3 adds, you have to look over the whole room before the spectrum phase, spot the white steam and pack 2 spectrum rays on it. There is 6 steams pre-showing, 3 red 1 yellow 1 blue and 1 white, be sure to assign few people to look for the good one and place a colored symbol on it. Communication is really important here, be sure everyone in your raid is quick to react and move if targetted by the beam. If they are not, you can also pack everyone on the white beam since only one add will (randomly) spawn and they cannot spawn more than once:
- Red + Yellow reveals the Orange
- Blue + Yellow reveals the Green
- Blue + Red reveals the PurpleThe extra-color add takes sometimes fews seconds to show, be sure to wait a bit standing on spectrums.
- Genetically Unmodified Organism: Primordius - (medium difficulty) -
This achievement mechanic is really easy, you need to bring Primordius down through the 25% damage reduction, without buff, without evolution. So the execution is a bit more complicated, because primordius is going to evolve more than with the normal way, and damage taken by the tanks and the raid is high in the end. Do not hesitate to go with 3 healers here.
Simple tactic is to drag the boss in the very center of the room, spread around it in a circle to avoid the aoe-mutation, nuke the boss down without killing a single blob and keep handling different mutations.
Currently, the achievement is going to be changed with the 5.3 patch (05/22/13), you will need to avoid any harmfull mutation. I don't know if it will be an individual achievement but it is unlikely because the "old" one is not designed that way.
- Ritualist Who?: Dark Animus - (not any difficulty) -
This achievement is simple as hell, you have 6 adds with a single name before Dark Animus, you simply have to kill all of them once. They are generated randomly on each raid ID, and you cannot do anything expect killing them every week until you got 24/24. Apparently you can kill the 6 pack and reset instance ID to get 6 different, but I have not test it yet. I will update if I can confirm it.
The only tip I can give you is an actual strategy to beat them without wiping 50 times. There is 3 mobs with hands on fire and 3 without, the 3 fireman cast longrange AoE (don't need to be kick if everyone is in melee) and the 3 other cast shortrange AoE. So just pack everyone (mobs + raid members) in a very short range, assign a kick on the three shortrange mobs, and this is it. As long as there is no kick fail, there is no damage (except melee swings on the tanks).
- Can't Touch This: Iron Qon - (medium difficulty) -
This achievement ask players to avoid 5 different mechanics during the encounter. First it is individual and you can complete different parts on several kills. It seems that the "survive the encounter" part is bugged, because you can pull the boss, die and get all 5 credits at the same time. The five mechanics you have to avoid are:
- walk in a fire line during first quilen
- walk in a lightning line during second quilen
- get caught by a tornado at any time
- walk in a frozen line during
- get caught by a frozen tornado during Qon last phaseAvoiding tornados during phase 2 is matter or training (or matter of speed to get a charge on the warlock gateway :p), and avoiding ground lines is matter of observation. Just be spread out and run like Bolt when you are close to a spear impact.
- From Dusk 'til Dawn: Twin Consorts - (easy difficulty) -
The goal of this achievement is to kill the twins in a different order than the "normal" way during the last encounter phase. Depending on gear, this could be quite hard to simple as hell. The main idea is to bring Lu'lin as low as possible during first phase, pop bloodlust and every cooldowns at pull. Then don't dps Suen below 30% (40 is safier) when Lu'lin disapears, just keep destacking until the other twin comes back. When they are both present, just nuke Lu'lin down and rotate defensive cooldowns to survive Suen stacking over and over.
- A Complete Circuit: Lei Shen - (easy difficulty) -
This last one is a 4 parts achievement, where you will need to desactivate first each possible conduits. As long as you have allready killed Lei Shen on normal mode, you may be familiar with every pillar properties. There is not any particular method to do this, just be sure to overcharge the one you need, and nuke the boss down after this. The real difficulty of this achievement is more in the way you have to deal with changing extra abilities.
This achievement is currently (05/19/13) bugged, you can get every part of the achievement in LFR. Bring your tanks and go !
As a conclusion, I highly recommand the use of the addon Raid Achievement, when up to date this addon is really handy. Good luck !
Every achieve here is soloable. The only caveat is that you have to have be a DoT class (or a class that has a DoT spell) to solo Soft Hands.
