Judging by how long it took and how few guilds have currently killed Heroic Dark Animus, it appears that this boss is one of the big walls this tier, similar to heroic Ascendant Council, Omnotron, and Baleroc. Whether this is due to extremely grueling mechanics, or just because it's an extremely tight DPS race, or possibly both, it's very refreshing to see another boss in the middle of an instance that is designed to truly test if a group is worthy enough to challenge the final boss on heroic. :D

Very tight dps check as well as mechanically difficult.
