Gurubashi Arena Grand Master

After finally getting this achievement on my druid, I thought I would post my experiences and advice here.

I looted the trinket 12 times on the Dreadmaul server, over a period of 15 days , at the times of 12am and 3am, and once at 6pm. I was wearing no pvp gear during any of these attempts. I was in a mix of toc25/icc10-25 feral tanking gear.

- 6 of those times I was unopposed, (nobody else was there)
- 3 of those times I 'ninjad' the trinket, i.e. there were at least two other players there who fought over the trinket. I sneaked up in stealth and looted the chest before they knew what I was doing.
- 3 of those times I had to defeat one or more players to get the trinket.
- Around 12 times I was unsuccessful, I was defeated through pvp or someone else beat me to the trinket.

My advice to those attempting this achievement:
- Go on off-peak times. Only one of my trinkets came from server peak times.
- Make a toon on the opposite faction on your server. Use the who function on the social tab while on that toon, as well as on the toon you are using to get this achievement. With this, you will have a list of everyone in strangethorn vale from both factions and will know of any competitors you may encounter. I found it helpful to park my druid toon near the arena 5 mins before the Goblin's announcement and log onto my opposite faction toon to get a reading of any Allies I might encounter. Then at around 2mins to Short John's announcement I would log onto my Tauren druid (my main), and check how many Horde were going for it. Just search 'vale' in the who tab.
- Dont be intimidated. Twice I had nearly given up after seeing two other players enter the arena in full wrathful gear 2 mins before the bloodbath, but I managed to get the trinket on both of those occasions. How? I picked my moment, if there are two others going for it, let them beat the hell out of each other. When one of them goes down, pick off the winner and loot the chest. Or, if you think you can mange it, loot the chest as they are fighting. I got 5 trinkets through both of these methods. It helps if you can stealth. If you cant, just wait up in the non-pvp area and pick your moment.
- Bring some friends. I did not have to do this. But I observed others do it and it certainly helped them.
- Turn on auto loot! This helped me once. An enemy zerged me as I opened the chest, but as I had auto loot on all I had to do was press yes on the screen and the trinket was mine! I died, but I got the trinket.

From a Druid with very little pvp experience

The chest will appear every 3 hours (12 am, 3 am, 6 am, 9 am, 12 pm, 3pm, 6 pm, 9 pm ect).
The best time to get it with no much trouble, is at 6am, and 9 am.
