This item used to be the Crystal Vial, however in patch 4.0.3a Blizzard changed the Empty Vial to the new-and-improved Crystal Vial. That is now the only vial that alchemists need, and this has been relegated to vendor trash.
This, as well as the Leaded and Imbued Vials, has had its icon updated for Wrath of the Lich King.
