If you're farming this to craft Darkrune gear for transmog, don't waste your time in Scholomance (heroic or normal). Go to Corrin's Crossing in Eastern Plaguelands (54, 62). It drops pretty frequently off the Dark Summoner's and Vile Tutors there. I got 6 in around 20 minutes or less of farming.
The best place to farm for these is the Death Cultist Base Camp at around 62, 76 in Eastern Plaguelands.
While the two mobs that drop these do show up in Corin's Crossing, they spawn en masse around the cauldron. Respawn is a couple minutes, and you can average two or three runes per clear of the circle. Get a guild group together (or a group of other friends on the same server) and you can increase your output!
Another advantage of nuking the cauldron is that they are not quest mobs there; unlike having to share your kills in Corin's crossing, the cauldron is completely separate. In fact, since the quest for it involves *avoiding* the mobs and throwing gunk in the cauldron, people may even thank you for keeping it clear, since they can still do their quest there even if everything is dead!
Alternatively, if you get bored standing and waiting, nuke the cauldron, head back to Corin's crossing, nuke the mobs there, come back to the cauldron, rinse and repeat.
