Axe of Rin'ji

I love this axe on my 49 Shaman. You should be able to pick it up for a pretty decent price. The attack speed is really nice and it works great when dual wielding with Frostbrand.

Frostbrand is a bad weapon enhance for shamans, Windfury > all.

What are you talking about? With this speed, frostband is uber! +damage and slowing effect. Never any runners, no hunters kiting you..

Used 2 of these on my hunter for leveling, Great axe.

If you are determined to have a great set of melee weapons on your hunter, I highly suggest these. The stats are great for hunters, and the dps is pretty solid as well. These will most likely last you up until the bone slicing hatchets, if not, they're still far worth it. Screw the phantom blade and kang. I see too many hunters with those, and the stats on those aren't even worth it, or even suited to a hunter for that matter. Invest in two of the Rin'ji axes, they won't disappoint (or shouldn't).

Nice joke, hunters don't melee. Should not melee. Hunters that melee don't know how to hunter. Hunters are RANGED ONLY.

Not only for hunters, but also for enhancement shamans is this axe a beauty. Equip to of these, enchant them with windfury weapon and stormstrike! :D Highly recommended.

This is easily one of the best 1h weapons you can get at its level. Its an amazing main hand at 48, and your going to be hard pressed to find a nicer off hand until the mid 50s.

Great offhand for a DW shaman in the 40-49 bracket, though I wouldn't mainhand it. Great stats and DPS though, probably ideal for a fury warrior. If you want a bit more DPS for an offhander, but don't mind the agility loss, grab a Lifeforce Dirk from the Hakkar (Sunken Temple) questline. It hits just about as hard but has a faster speed, plus retains the 11 stamina. Best of all, that weapon is free whereas I've seen this go for up to 50G in the AH.

Funny how the troll Rin'ji in hinterlands says he lost his axe. Betting my soul it's this one?

Even funnier that the axe is level 48, and Rin'ji himself is 46. He lost it cause he couldn't equip it yet. Maybe if he'd tried a little harder...

Bought for 5g :) Can I dual-wield two of these if I get a second one ?

Going by numbers, for a level 49 hunter twink, 2 of these with 20 agility would be slightly better then a stoneraven. 2 more agility and 6 more stamina, while losing some AP , and costing a bit more but thats what being a twink is all about... getting the best gear possible :)

except Stoneraven (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=13059) sucks for hunters, because Strength and Spirit are not hunter stats. Grimlocks Charge (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=9416) is far better even though its much lower level, and its boostable/grindable. However this axe is nice. Getting two may be tough but if your lucky enough to get one, the 48 PVP WSG dagger will make a great addition.

This is a nice weapon for any melee class, however the fast attack speed and relatively high stamina makes it especially nice, if not ideal, for tanking pre-Stratholme.

i need to find out where the best place to get this is as my shammy is already at lvl 49 im trying to twink him with two of theese axes but summoned zombies dont drop for a start, so where would be the best? if anyone can advise it would be great help

It's a random world drop. The best place for you to get one is the Auction House :)

Indeed you cant actually grind these, lest you have tremendous luck.

yes you can! it's not a main hand or a off hand weapond either, just a nice one hand that you put (almost) where you want ;-P

I just found the axe on a Centipaar Sandreaver in Tanaris but they aren't on the list. Just thought you'd like to know.

Excellent axe for a hunter especially for twinks. Two of these means two 20 agility enchants which is very nice.

This is a post not about the axe stats. In the Hinterlands there is a troll named Rin'ji. he is a prison of the high elfs and duing his escort quest he tells you that he lost his axe. Guess it thats why it's a random world drop :D

I have this axe at the moment, but I was wondering how much should I put it up for in the AH?

I'm still using this at level 61 with my prot warrior. The DPS it still dishes out is still amazing. I have no problem taking down a different faction 1v1. I also have mongoose on it.

Now this one you guys wont believe. I was just walking about near him, minding my own business and pwning some elves. All of a sudden i see this mob, he's actually [b]wielding[/b] this thing in his hand. After i killed him, he dropped Axe of Rin'ji. Rate me down if you like, i know its sounds strange but it really did happen. Maybe its the same thing with the ogre in The Deadmines... You can also notice him holding a polearm sometimes instead of his usual hammer. If he does, he drops the polearm.

where can i get this awesome axe? i bought one on AH for a great deal, but i really need another.

Hey all, first ever comment. Found this site to be really helpful and wanted to just add a little data whenever I found a useful item. Just picked up this axe off the body of a Tar Lord or lurker..eek the body dissapeared when I was signing up lol

This is a decent MH weapon for an Orc Enhance Shaman that isn't doing much PvP. While it is pretty fast so WF hits will not be the strongest, you will get 5 expertise on Stormstrike, WF hits, and white attacks.

WHY. WHY would you pick a fast mainhand weapon for a shaman? That's just stupid

Dropped for my warrior off of the Shadowsworn in the Blasted lands, I noticed that the Shadowsworn was wielding the Axe, anyone know if it was just a coincidence or if they have a high drop?

Landonrassa was right, Axe of Rin'ji is a perfect match. Those others have the wrong skin.

It says that it drops easy from the humanoids named "Scarlet Preacher" I'm at the dk place with a new dk farming killing those but it havent drop yet, I wanna know how hard it is to get this axe.

That would most likely be because it's atmost a 0.6% drop rate, meaning 6 in every 1000... As stated above, this weapon is not very farmable unless you have godly luck.

I picked this up in Silithus...I'm a level 56 hunter and after reading these comments it sounds like I should keep it...However the weapon I have now I think is better. Right now I have the Beastkiller... Which should I keep? and how much does the Axe of Rin'Ji go for in AH?

I have been farming http://www.wowhead.com/item=20769#teaches-ability for about 8 hours (not got it yet) when this axe dropped off one of the "Oozes". (some reward at least). With the upcoming changes to transmog in 5.2 this has potential.
