To those who are confused when this first appeared on wowhead it had nothing but a crap ton of pure spell power and no other stats. It has obviously been changed since then.

VERY nice model imo, the old "Perforator" model looked like it couldn't perforate anything, more bludgeon it. However this looks like it could Perforate, hard.

I have two of these on my shamy. Currently they are going for about 475g on Thrall server. Sometimes a few nuckle heads try to sell them for 1k, but market quickly gets flooded and they drop back down less then 500g ea. My concern about these is, they are great... Maybe to good for their required level -vs- DPS from other level 83 items. They are pretty much the highest 1H dps blue item on AH that I have seen as to the date of this post. I hope we see more really good fist weapons this expansion.

The reason you're seeing a flooded market with these, is that they are one of the very few trainer bought recipes for the higher JC skill levels, making them a popular (if not very cost-efficient) way of leveling jewelcrafting.

Given how slow it is going to be to get the best JC cuts plus the crafted items, I can wait and make Fire Prisms each day and cut metas once I get enough tokens. Making this item for skill-ups is a complete waste of good gems.

I agree, I'm dual-wielding them on my (combat) rogue. The dps is just way too high to pass up, although it made me wince a little to equip such a slow off hand! For pre-heroics, it's a pretty wonderful weapon. I haven't been using them to level my JC considering the mats by themselves sell for almost three times a much as the finished product itself.

Just made one of these this morning and was gonna sell it but when I went to list it in the AH i was shocked to see that the average price was around 100g on Misha server. I ended up keeping it and using it for my hunter seeing as the mats to make this sell for more than that. I just threw a + AGI gem into the socket and it was better than the off hand weapon i had equipped at the time.

it may not be very cost effective to make but its still a rather nice fist weapon that will give relatively easy skill ups to 500+ I got this recipe early (since it is trainer bought) and when i linked it in guild i suddenly had an enh shaman and 3 hunters wanting two of em each lol. They funneled me ore to prospect and it was some easy skill ups for some nice guild upgrades while leveling :)

Relatively easy for skill-ups and not all that much demand means I picked one up for 80G buyout on Moonrunner :V

Since the price of gems has evened out on many servers and even dropped drastically, I'm sure this is now cost effective as long as there are rogues/enh-shamans/[s]hunters[/s]/etc looking for them.

Edit: As of Patch 4.3 gem prices have skyrocketed thus making this correct only at the time it was originally posted.

Edit: I doubt hunters would want this now...

I just bought 1 for 169g on my server. I could sell 1 Inferno ruby for more than that so it's cheaper to buy then use up the mats.

Having been picking up gems and ore cheap on the AH forever, I easily had the mats sitting in my bank. I made two of these for the 2 points I needed to hit 500 and train Zen, and sent them to my bankalt-rogue (who has most of her 84 levels from RAF grants in order to open lockboxes). I just trashed my ilvl average, and now will have to re-equip her (unless I just wait till my LW toon works his way up there). Very sweet. Contemplating advertising them for a bit. Not sure what it goes for on the AH on my server. But very very nice.

I am currently leveling JC and this is still orange at 505 so the current info on wowhead is wrong. I'll update once it turns yellow and again at green.
