Best place I have found is definitely the terrortooth raptor den just south of Hunter Hill in Southern Barrens.
This place is great for a few reasons,
- Quick respawn timer, no downtime for me with instant kills on each mob
- Easy access to vendor to sell all the junk you get as your bags fill up at Hunter Hill (if horde, just north of that for alliance)
- Drops some Heavy Leather, but not too much, getting you prepped for the next level
For reference, this is around 40.23 coords.
A good place place is wetlands at 68,47 on the road south east of greenwardens grove, there is a battle between Ebon slavehunters and dragonmaw whelpstealers, the slavehunters drop light or medium leather, no scraps, and various cloth, they respawn as soon as they are killed so you can just stand in one spot (their spawn point beside baracade on road is best) and kill 4 mobs and they will have respawned before you skin them , it's actually quite hard to keep up and you will find yourself standing in a pile of bodies as you can't skin fast enough.

and varoius other cloth and green etcIf the slavehunters are fighting the whelpstealers kill them to make them respawn
As of 4.0.1 the best place to farm medium leather is The Charred Vale in Stonetalon Mountains.There are groups of Black Dragon Whelps there (3 in a group) , they are extremely easy to kill.Sometimes you l find 2 groups near eachother, just run around and spam aoe,they will drop really fast.
