Pattern can drop in Searing Gorge from Dark Iron Dwarves ([npc=5840])
It is needed for the [item=151623] mount (similar to the [item=147835])
EDIT: I would love to know why this is being downvoted. It has been confirmed on Twitter by Devs that is obtainable, and has been found by the Secret Finding Discord for the mobs and location. https://twitter.com/Muffinus/status/903693149746356224

This recipe now drops from dark iron dwarves in Searing Gorge -- at least [npc=5840]s.
While you're farming the pattern in Searing Gorge, you'll get plenty of Bolt of Mageweave but Shadow Silk is harder to come by and is way overpriced on the AH. Stay in Searing Gorge after you grab the pattern and
farm the spiders ([npc=5857] and [npc=5856]) to grab 8 Spider Silk. It might take you an extra 30 minutes or so but it'll save you tens of thousands of gold.head to LBRS to kill the spiders. Make your way to spider boss, kill many spiders, leave, reset instance, repeat. You'll have the 8 you need rather quickly, and if you farm any extras, they might sell on the AH to the Azerothian 1%.Thanks to Dementron and codeytherhino in their replies below for the updated method.
