Where the Great Vault is

The current vault quest is The Great Vault, placed in Silvermoon City and limited to level 90 characters in Blizzard's quest API. Its text is the location answer:

In wake of recent events, the Vanguard of the Light has recovered and preserved relics of exceptional power and craftsmanship. To safeguard these treasures from prying eyes, the Magisters of Silvermoon have conjured a vault within Silvermoon's bank. Only the most proven of champions may earn the right to draw from its splendor. If the Light deems you worthy, you may be bestowed an artifact of great power.

The current client build ships no map point for this quest, so this page gives the quest's own words rather than coordinates.

What unlocks each reward slot

The client stores the Great Vault as the Weekly Reward Chest. Its newest threshold rows unlock 9 reward slots across 3 rows (Raid, Activities, World). Each number is the progress count, within one week, that opens the slot.

The newest threshold set carries no Ranked PvP row.

Not in the data we hold: which difficulties count toward each row, and the item level each slot pays. This page does not state them; the crest item-level table further down is the upgrade ladder, not the vault's reward table.

Blizzard's Mythic Keystone API publishes the weekly period each region runs on. The current period started Tuesday 15:00 UTC in US, Wednesday 04:00 UTC in EU; the Weekly Reward Chest counts within that week.

Earlier Great Vault quests

Blizzard's quest API also carries the earlier vault quests. Their locations belong to their own level bands, not to Midnight:

• The Great Vault in Isle of Dorn, level 80: Many of Dornogal's systems have been dormant for millennia and are now back online. Once, this cache of armor and weapons would have supported the earthen in their Oathsworn duty to protect Dornogal. Now it is extended to you with the expectation that you use what you find there to aid others along your quest. The Vault is housed here in Dornogal within the Council's Treasury. The Councilward has granted you full access to its contents.
• The Great Vault in Thaldraszus, level 70: Over the years, the Aspects and their kin acquired many remarkable artifacts and armaments. The Aspects ordered the construction of an enchanted vault where they could be stored for safe-keeping until such a time as a worthy soul came in search of that which lay within. You will find this Great Vault within the walls of the bank. Perhaps, if you prove your mettle, it will grant you a piece of the Aspects' ancient hoard.
