Skettis and Sha'tari Skyguard Dailies Guide: the 21 Gold Morning and the Path to Terokk

The Skettis daily pair pays 21 gold and 9 silver for ten minutes and needs no group. Here is the unlock, all four Skyguard dailies, the Shadow Dust economy that makes the grind uncapped, and the Terokk fight at the end.

Skettis is the arakoa homeland hanging above Terokkar Forest, and its daily hub is the best-designed gold faucet in The Burning Crusade: two quests that pay 21 gold and 9 silver combined, take ten minutes, require no group, and sit in the same zone as a repeatable reputation grind that scales with how much you want to kill things. On the Anniversary realms it all runs exactly as it did in 2007, which is the point.

Like Netherwing, the hub is flying-gated. Unlike Netherwing, it does not require the 5,000 gold riding tier: normal flying at Expert Riding is enough to reach Blackwind Landing, which makes this the daily hub you do while saving for epic flying, not after it.

The unlock

  1. Find Yuula, the Skyguard recruitment officer, standing next to the flight master in Shattrath City.
  2. Her quest Threat from Above sends you to the Barrier Hills just above the city to kill twenty Gordunni Ogres. Half an hour of questing, done solo.
  3. The follow-up, To Skettis, has you deliver explosives to Sky Sergeant Doryn at Blackwind Landing on the cliffs north of Skettis in Terokkar Forest.
  4. From then on, Doryn offers the bombing daily every day, and the rest of the hub opens as you complete the short one-time chains.
The other one-time quests at the landing are worth doing the first week: Hungry Nether Rays and World of Shadows each pay 250 reputation, and World of Shadows is also the door to the Shadow Dust economy below.

The daily pair, exactly

Fires Over Skettis pays 11 gold 99 silver and 350 reputation. You take Skyguard Blasting Charges, fly the tree platforms of Skettis, and bomb twenty Monstrous Kaliri egg clusters from the saddle. It is done entirely while mounted, it takes two to five minutes once you know the platform layout, and the only real hazard is the Monstrous Kaliri themselves, which exist to knock you off your mount. Do this one before the escort.

Escape from Skettis pays 9 gold 10 silver and 150 reputation. A Skyguard Prisoner is caged on one of three treetop spawn points; find one, break the cage, and walk the escort to safety through arakoa patrols. If other players are around, group with them rather than racing to the same prisoner: everyone in the group gets credit.

Together: 21 gold 9 silver and 500 reputation per day, in roughly ten minutes, with the potion choice from the escort as a small bonus. A week of the pair is about 147 gold and 3,500 reputation before you have killed a single extra mob.

The second hub: Blade's Edge

The Skyguard keep a second outpost in Blade's Edge Mountains beside Ogri'la, with two more dailies: Wrangle Some Aether Rays, using Wrangling Rope to capture rays in the area, worth 350 reputation, and the Forge Camp bombing run, worth 500. The Ogri'la dailies that unlock alongside them pay their own gold and Apexis Shard, the Apexis Shard currency of the Blade's Edge plateaus, which the ogre vendors there convert into gear and Apexis Crystal for the shard-motif prizes. Add these two and the full Skyguard circuit is four dailies and 1,350 reputation per day, plus the Ogri'la quests if you want them.

Shadow Dust: the uncapped part

Every arakoa in Skettis has a chance to drop Shadow Dust, worth 10 reputation per kill besides. Six Shadow Dust turn into the Elixir of Shadows through the repeatable World of Shadows turn-in, and the elixir is where the hub stops being a daily and becomes a grind.

Under the elixir you can see the Time-Lost: ghost arakoa invisible to everyone else, each worth 10 reputation, dropping more Shadow Dust, and gating the Talonpriest quests. The whole loop, kill arakoa, collect dust, brew elixirs, kill ghosts, compounds on itself, and a farmer clearing the platforms reports reputation rates north of 2,000 an hour. That is the honest comparison with the Netherwing dailies: Netherwing pays a fixed floor, Skettis pays whatever your kill rate is worth.

At the end of the ghost chain sits Terokk. The quest chain through the Talonpriests ends with his summon at the skull pile in central Skettis, worth 1,000 reputation, and he is group content. Most players grab a pair of friends the week they need the last push.

What Exalted buys

Grella, the quartermaster at Blackwind Landing, sells five Nether Ray mounts at 200 gold each once you are Exalted. Between the 200 gold price and the riding requirement, the mount set costs a fraction of any vendor equivalent, and the rays are the fastest-looking thing in the sky at 280 percent. The Skyguard also sell a cloak that works as a slow-fall escape, beloved by every farmer who has been knocked off a Skettis platform.

How it stacks with everything else

The morning that pays in Terokkar: the two Skettis dailies, then the Blade's Edge pair, then whatever else your schedule holds. The gold is real but modest; the reputation is the actual product, and the arakoa grind is the throttle that decides how fast you get it. For the raw gold-per-hour picture, the primal farming routes remain the ceiling, and Terokkar happens to sit between two of them: the mana fields of Netherstorm are one flight north, and Skettis water elementals are a water-mote source in their own right.

FAQ

How much gold do the Skettis dailies pay?

21 gold 9 silver per day for the Terokkar pair: Fires Over Skettis pays 11 gold 99 silver and Escape from Skettis pays 9 gold 10 silver. The Blade's Edge Skyguard dailies add their own rewards on top.

Do I need epic flying for Skettis?

No. Expert Riding, the 800 gold tier, is enough to reach Blackwind Landing and do every daily. Epic flying just makes the circuits faster, as it does everywhere in Outland.

How long does Sha'tari Skyguard Exalted take?

Daily quests alone take roughly a month. Farming arakoa for Shadow Dust and running the elixir loop cuts that heavily, with community rates above 2,000 reputation per hour during dedicated sessions.

Where do I get the Elixir of Shadows?

Turn six Shadow Dust, dropped by the arakoa of Skettis, into the repeatable World of Shadows quest at Blackwind Landing. The elixir reveals the Time-Lost arakoa for its duration.

What is Shadow Dust worth on the auction house?

It varies by realm, and the dust is usually worth more as reputation through the turn-in than as a sale. Check your own auction house against the primal prices in the farming routes guide before selling any; the materials economy of Terokkar and Netherstorm move together.
