Quest database plus guides that walk a chain.
Find the exact quest before troubleshooting
Match the title, objective and zone with your in-game quest log. Several quests can share a title while belonging to different versions or stages of a story. Use the individual quest record to confirm the reward and the surrounding chain.
Read the objective separately from the quest dialogue. Dialogue provides context, while the objective tells you what the game is asking you to complete. A count, named target or required item can explain why an apparently finished task has not advanced.
Work backward from a missing follow-up
A missing relationship in a database is not proof that a quest has no prerequisites. Use the links that are actually recorded, and check the in-game campaign or quest log for conditions that the record does not explain. Do not abandon an active quest merely to test a guess.
- Open the expected quest and follow any recorded previous-quest link.
- Check that the earlier quest was turned in, rather than only completed in your log.
- Compare the listed zone and character restrictions with your current character.
- Return to the last confirmed quest giver or chain step before searching unrelated NPCs.
Plan a chain around the reward you need
Start at the reward and work through the known chain before estimating the effort. Note travel between zones and any item you need to retain. A useful checklist records the next action and the last confirmed completion, not just a list of quest names.
For a collection reward, inspect its own page as well. The same visible object may have multiple acquisition paths, and an alternative source may fit your character better than starting a long chain.
- Quest chain guides: follow recorded story sequences
- Quest search: identify the matching objective and reward
- Zone database: confirm the location attached to the quest
