Every icon page on TheWoWDB has a 128 pixel PNG with a transparent background, which is the size Discord and Slack both want for a custom emoji. The packs bundle up to 50 themed icons at once, plus 320 pixel sticker versions.
Discord emoji
- Open the icon's page here, or a pack page if you want a whole set, and download the 128px PNG (or the pack zip and unzip it).
- In Discord, open your server menu and choose Server Settings, then Emoji.
- Press Upload Emoji and pick the PNG files. You can select many at once.
- Discord names each emoji after its file. Pack files already carry short names such as fireball or ragnaros; rename any you like.
- Type a colon and the name in any channel, for example :fireball:, to use it.
Discord stickers
- Download a pack: its stickers folder holds 320 by 320 pixel PNGs, the size Discord asks for.
- In Server Settings, open Stickers and press Upload Sticker.
- Pick the PNG, give it a name and a related emoji, and save.
Slack emoji
- Download the 128px PNG of the icon, or a pack's emoji folder.
- In Slack, open your workspace menu, choose Tools and settings, then Customize workspace.
- On the Emoji tab press Add Custom Emoji, upload the image and give it a name.
- Use it with :name: in any message or as a reaction.
Size limits
- Discord emoji
- PNG or GIF, at most 256 KB each, shown at up to 128px. A server starts with 50 emoji slots and gains more with boosts.
- Discord stickers
- PNG or APNG, exactly 320 by 320 pixels, at most 512 KB. A server starts with 5 sticker slots.
- Slack emoji
- Square images up to 128px work best; Slack resizes larger ones.
Tips
- Native game icons are 64 by 64 pixels. The 128px and 256px files are upscaled from that, which is fine for emoji, where the client shows them small anyway.
- Icons have a dark border baked into the art, so they read well on Discord's dark theme and on Slack's light one.
- Name emoji after the spell, not the file:  is easier to type than :spell_arcane_blink:.
