You need 410 in skill to make this.

And ride this.

Thats was probably changed in some patch, because i learned the same item within the firsts skill points of Master Tailoring, and it requires only 300 skill to ride.

In addition, you can do the dance emote while on this thing and sail around, never missing a beat.

Do not log out while high in the air upon this thing. When you re-log, your mount will be gone and you will fall to your death. (Just happened to me).

Sure, you can *try* dancing, but whether or not that unnatural twist of the spine 180 degrees to the rear is *survivable* would be another story entirely. Ow.

Well. to use this carpet in northern land you need to learn cold weather flying. So those who already have epic flying mount, can skip this carpet and wait for the epic one.

Mount speed increasing effects do not work. Crusader Aura and such do absolutely nothing to the speed of vehicles.

You missread the post. Blue said "This is slated to be changed in an upcoming patch (not 3.0.8). All new mounts that currently function like vehicles will be changed to function like other standard mounts. This includes the flying carpet." So, 3.0.8 is not the patch we're waiting for to fix this >_<

how do you use a land mount and this carpet at the same time? :S

I just tested the whole thing about being able to be on your mount while using the flying carpet (see screenshots) but it doesn't work, at least not now. Maybe it did at one point....

I am able to mount the Headless Horsemen mount while on the carpet everytime.

I am sorry, but magic rug flying regulations specifically prohibit any activity other than (a) enjoying the view (recommended), (b) reviewing one's possessions (optional) and (c) clutching rug edges in sheer stomach-churning terror (not recommended).

Here is a question i've been dying to ask.. can a person take up taloring, get to the skill to use the mount, learn said mount, then unlearn tailoring? only reason i ask is due to the mounts being "spells" now, dont know how the requirements work or can be tweeked. I hope someone has already tried this and can let us all know!

You can do this, but you won't be able to use the mount without the required tailoring skill.

However, it DOES still count towards any mount achievements. I had Engineering for quite some time, and then dropped it for Jewelcrafting. Both helicopter mounts became instantly unusable to me but still stayed in my inventory, since I had learned them as spells. So if you were hardcore about getting the 100-mount achievement, you could pick up Tailoring long enough to create the six flying carpets, and then drop it for whatever you like.

Now, here's a little tip for you that find infinite dusts (for the imbued cloth) at obscene prices in your server - find an enchanter, preferably a guildie or someone you know isn't an "arse".. While you level your tailoring to 410, you will make a lot of uncommon quality armors; They are lvl 70, 72. Now, give some of these, or all , to that enchanter and you will get your dusts easily, and if you let the enchanter keep the leftover dusts (you'll only need 8 for this), you'll probably have a happy enchanter friend now that'll give you mighty discounts on 'chants :) That's at least how I'm working now, I send pretty much everything that is not of epic quality to a friend and I get basicly free enchants in return.

its a n00b question. but can someone buy this, learn the spell for the 50 mounts achievemtn and not use it? I think of it like the reindeer and helper pets, so i think u can, but any1 to help; me here?

was under the impression that you could use this carpet without the tailoring skill, and unfortunately, you can't. just spent about 400g lvling my priest's tailoring to get the carpet for my main. /sigh. on the bright side I can now make and sell frostweave bags. hooray.

Unfortunately it's graphically BUGGED!

You may see yourself perfectly, but all other players will look at you and see half of your body below the carpet.

I talked to the GM, and he told me that Blizzard does not plan to fix this soon, because there are other more important bugs to fix =/

This problem seems to have started in the last patch (3.0.8).

So I just went through the whole process, installed the PTR and copied my character over and everything to find out, found another played to ask them what it looked like, and yes, confirmed, working properly on the test realm. tl;dr Next patch fixes carpet belt.

Well thank god, when I made mine I got several of my friends to come to shatt so I could show them my new ride and they were all snickering on vent for and I couldn't figure out why, till one of them whispered me ingame saying "you know half your body is sticking out of the bottom, right?" EPIC FAIL

This seems to be fixed in 3.1. People see me just how I see myself on it, and I see other normal on it. I can confirm that the epic version of this http://www.wowhead.com/?item=44558 works perfectly now, and people see you like it should be. Can anyone confirm this for the non-epic mount?

I'll give you graphically bugged. Check out the screen shot I submitted. There's not carpet at all! My character just swims through the air (still cool but. . .)! I spent all that time trying to get this cool flying carpet, and what happens? No frickin carpet! I logged off and on so many times Blizzard contacted me asking if I wanted to buy shares.

I made this for one of my guild members, but he said he could not use it.. he clamed that he had to have tailoring skill (410) to use it..i thought that was just me for making it? is this bug or is the carpet a profession specific mount? thanks!

Could I buy the carpet and learn it without having tailoring? Or do you have to have tailoring to learn the spell?

Read the tooltip mate. This item, which you use to learn the spell to summon the carpet, has a tailoring skill requirement of 410.

Does the sun crystals required to make this imply that the rug is solar powered? :)
