I don't presume to know how ever guild's loot system works, but its likely they still need a piece or 2, regardless. Besides, the original poster said "mostly". Shoulders (and maybe cloak/helm if you're waiting for the sinestra one) are probably the pieces they still need replacing. If you're in mostly 372, you will NOT be able to hit cap as a mage/lock unless you downgrade several pieces of gear to 359 (or are extremely lucky with heroic alakir's sword having hit on it and the stupid random conclave rings having hit on it). The amount of additional int on those 372 still makes them worth wea

Actually it's the best DPS wand period right now (except for shadow priests of course) and the only epic wand option for mages and warlocks, since heroic trash drops don't seem to exist and the 372 wands with spirit or resilience are garbage for DPS.

39022+2via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

However, you can not reforge the Resilience unlike how you can reforge the spirit. 32 more rating on Finkle's. The difference between crit and mastery for all specs is not that much. Mastery is #1 Arcane, Almost #1 for frost and on aoe fights mastery is not a bad stat for fire.

i doubt someone wearing full 372s even bothers "saving up" his DKP ? no, they're wearing the blue wand cause they're convinced that finkle's is not good, and they haven't seen TB drop yet (or didn't have enough DKP to win the bid). too bad ... finkle's definitely is the way to go if u're already so high geared (yes, hit-cap IS an issue, but +32 on ur wand is still a very nice addition and probably helps u reforging to haste/crit somewhere else).

Perhaps not like candy, but there's plenty of relic drops in instances, scribes can make them, and you can buy 359s from the VP vendor. Comparatively, this wand is the only raid drop for mages and locks and the only other viable wand for them above 359 is this.

Although I can't deny I got a real kick out of using Cookie's wand at max level... yeah when it's nearly the last slot you don't have an epic in it kind of sucks. And I have yet to even see this up on the AH even for a crazy amount, nor has it dropped for my raid group. It would help if there was more farmable trash in this zone like there is in BoT...

People often fail to realize what a tiny contribution a new wand is. In the scale of contributions, going one tier higher, it is equivalent to using a single food buf. It's important but it does not warrant giving 50,000gold for it. It is definitely a good choice if it's up to 10,000gold and a Prestige, but do not think for a moment this is a good decision if you need gold for other items first, even if it's just a back. Cool if you rolled for it though.

Just made a post to say I hate this item! It never drops! I thought I read patchnotes about them buffing the droprate from BWD trash, but even after so many weeks of full clearing, and NEITHER of our 2 x 10 man groups have ever seen one drop. Heck, I'd even be willing to kite all the trash up the elevator and into magmaws room if it actually increased dropchance!

Which part of my response did it not make sense? It seems to me that you've ignored "don't buy this wand at a ridiculously high price" after reading they'll be a bigger variety of epic wands that are ilvl 353. Everyone knows, people are trying to sell this wand for like what? 50k+ across all realms, it's like what, a slightly 20 dps increase for a 50k+ gold wand? Not worth it, it's not that big of a difference, what I said was, epic wands will be coming out soon, which are of ilvl 353. Unless tobindax, you're willing to fork up a ridiculous price for a 359 wand, go for it. At least chaf

Allmost as good is not good enough for some people. Though they should make heroic BOEs drop as well, as the only 372 wand has spirit on it. Funny thing is I've seen allmost full 372 geared people having a blue wand still because they can't get this one to drop.

Glica+0via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

When I said: "Don't worry folks, don't buy this wand at a ridiculously high price, in the next patch, 4.1, there will be a bigger variety of DPS wands that are itemlevel 353." - I said this because this boe wand is on the AH for at least 50k for almost, if not all servers. In my opinion, 50k+ gold on a 15 dps increase is not worth it, when you can easily get a 353 ilvl epic wand from ZA/ZG dungeons. It's not that hard to comprehend what I was trying to say. Surely, botters won't have any issues buying 50k+ wands ilvl 359.

it not being on the AH wouldnt mean its hard to get, it would most likely mean that those who have received this either needed it, sold/gave it personally to a guildie/friend or it wasnt on the AH long enough to notice it was there. edited for better wording
the 372 wands with spirit or resilience are garbage for DPS.
What information are you basing this on? I swear people just see spirit and then think "OMG this is bad for Mages" Seeing as 7 ppl have given your comment the thumbs up I guess the community agrees with you but most people's sim results do not. And what is more accurate? Looking at something and saying "hmm this is good!" or "this is bad!", or a complex simulator based on thousands of tests. I am not saying the simulator is 100% accurate and individual results may vary, but it is one of the best ways to min/max gear. Don't take my word for it, armory some of the top mages on WOL and you will see that the majority of them use Finkle's [item=65064]. Comparing Finkle's to TB You are trading 14 [int] for 31 rating. On average, when I Sim stat weighs for fire/arcane or frost [int] is worth 2.5 more then any either crit/haste or mastery. So in that case 14x2.5=35 > 31. So for a mage Finkle's > then TB. At best someone's Sim results might show that TB = Finkle's. Also, Finkle's is easy to get while TB is incredibly difficult to find even on the AH. The best thing about TB is the high amount of hit it has[72] vs only getting 32 hit from Finkle's after reforging. Most ~BiS mages are unable to get hit capped unless they get lucky with a belt/ring from To4w. If you are unable to get hit capped without sacrificing [int], then TB would have a very slight edge over Finkle's. As for the idiots you see wearing mostly 372 gear with a blue wand. I bet they let Finkle's get DE'd because they thought it sucked. I know in my guild this is the case, *sigh if only people would just do their own math instead of listening to people like Saufsoldat.

39022+2via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

BiS is still BiS, the wands from Za don't change that. TB with it's hit rating gives the most hit you can get on a wand and most top end raiding mages are not hit capped so it is a very appealing wand. Also, Finkle's > ZA wands, according to the Simulator for any mage spec, so the AH price shouldn't be affected.

Actually most people (mage/locks) with 372s wearing a blue wand don't bid on heroic finkles because most guilds use some kind of DKP/epgep system, and its generally worth it to save your points for other items where you actually get the full 100% usage of stats on the item rather than bidding on an item useless stats on it - especially since wands don't offer huge upgrades compared to other slots.

thankfully being replaced in a few weeks with Glowing Ember Wand from Firelands - easy to get with a little over 1200 VP. saw a few booklights already up for less than 10k with Firelands looming.

Apparently it was used by Theresa Wolf. How and when she lost her pocket flashlight is a mystery. But how a flashlight shoots balls of fire is a more disturbing mystery. Maybe I should quote Falstad Wildhammer: "He's a mage, after all, and everyone knows that they're all mad!"

Just found this on the AH for 1400 gold, had never seen it before, had no idea what it was, value wise, never rolled a Mage or Caster class except a Preist. If there is anyone on my server who wants it I'll be posting on the AH for Wowhead's 6k+ after I've done some research on its sell range. It'll be far cheaper than some of the insane prices some have indicated here. Seem's like a beauty. I'd also be willing to trade this item for a top end ranged weapon. Merry Christmas!

849660-3via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

For those who downrated my comment, I assume that was due to the AH markup value I placed on it. Although it did take a while I've just sold it for 8989 gold, over 7k profit from my inital investment. I must assume that those who downrated me have no idea how to make gold on WoW. This item is a big ticket money maker , if you have patience.

849660-3via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Working the AH, if you are able to understand your server economics is the number one way to make money. I spent a total of 10 mins buying and posting this one item, show me where you can make 7k profit, in addition to regaining my initial 1400 gold investment.
