You can pick up this quest from Thrall at Shattered Landing in this zone while time travelling to "pre-invasion" version of the zone.
However, in that version the Iron Horde haven't actually invaded yet.
So you can't do the quest unless you return to Zidormi to switch the zone back to "present day".

Which is rather odd, and may cause some confusion.

If you do these quests on a character with an ilevel less than 515 (mine was 504 at the time), you can receive loot in addition to gold. I received [item=118761], [item=118766], [item=118771], and [item=118776] for completing the whole quest chain, in addition to achievement/pet/title I received on other characters.

Am stuck in a loop. Took this along with the other three available quests. This and "Under Siege" are not possible to turn in after Thrall goes down into the valley. Abandoned quest, tried again, still submission of quest appears on the upper True Horde camp on the map, still no Thrall there, still no submit quest question mark over Thrall's head when I go back to him and Okrilla.

Keeping quests till post-patch? What the gnell?
Must I reach level 100 for completion?

We received reports of the Dark Portal turning red right before the attack. They call themselves the Iron Horde. Their army is extremely well equipped, and their numbers appear to be unending. They have already taken Okril'lon Hold and Nethergarde Keep. Our troops on the frontlines could use your help, {class}.
