The molten phoenixes in the Dragon Isles create an unusual ash substance once they die. It could be used to create some material improvements for some complex, life-changing machinery. Though I would probably use it for explosives.

/way 64.37, 29.07on top of the rock there should be around 6-10 spawned
This quest alone can fill half a "terrible quests" bingo card. Unnecessarily big collection amount? Check. Terrible drop rate? Check. Sparse mobs that are hard to find in groups? Check. Annoying deathrattle? Check. Mobs keep you in combat after death? Check.
Glad to see 18 years of experience being used to create a truly terrible quest.
The drop rate is miserably low.
