I approached this objective by sea with a water mount/walk immediately after talking to [npc=89751] for Worth Its Weight, though reikettsu mentions using the Vineyard portal and gliding down (here). If you're coming back to this chain at a later time, you can also drop off Dalaran at Krasus' Landing and glide or water mount/walk.

  • Apply [spell=202477] as soon as you're able, and take the inlet at 52.81, 62.51 (on your map, it's the sliver to the right of the Court of Stars).

Be weary of the plethora of regular and elite NPCs that can not only detect your illusion, but also dispell it. The spell, [spell=203750], has a 2 second cast and 18 yard range, which is easiest to dodge while mounted.

  • Once in the inlet, turn right/east and head under the bridge, hugging the wall on the left until you get to the stairs around 57.73, 60.80.

  • Patrols abound at the top of the stairs. Take a quick left and left to go across the bridge, or take the long way by circling east and back around (less [spell=203761]s).

  • There is a doorway at 61.08, 60.16 (far right when looking at the building across from the bridge, behind the lotus pond) - the [object=247615] is just inside the door on the left.

When you interact with the crown, you will be shown the following text (which hints at your task for part 3 of this chain)...

Spoiler
This crown once adorned the brow of Mavrana Mooncrest. It conveyed an incredible amount of arcane power, allowing her to achieve nearly-limitless mastery over the magical arts.

During the War of the Ancients, the crown was stolen by rival nobles, and its precious jewels were removed and sold. It was eventually recovered, but without the Jewels of Aellis which gave it such potency.

To this day, the jewels remain lost.

Turn-in back at [npc=89751] - path from water up to him at 38.24, 93.02.
At completion you will be offered final part of this chain: Sifting Through the Rubble.

Building where this is located is just below the area in front of the Twilight Vinyards. I took the portal there, and then jumped off the side and did a slow-fall down (as a priest). There are steps down, but these are guarded by an npc that can detect your masquerade. Once in this lower courtyard again be careful of patrolling npcs who can detect the masquerade. However, I made it into the building without encountering any problems... so there IS another way to get in here!

Description

The nightborne have dropped their shield allowing us to penetrate their city and learn their secrets. One such secret I've discovered is a crown of immeasurable power. I'd like you to find this crown and report back to me on what it does.

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.
