The part that isn't obvious about this quest is that the ogres have to walk towards the beer for it to count. I (a priest) was doing this with my rogue friend and at first we were sapping and dropping it at their feet -- this didn't work. We found a couple of ways of getting it to work

1. Place one in front of a patrolling Brute and wait for him to walk up to it. This is how most people will need to do this quest.
2. Sap and drop one a few yards away. Wait for sap to break, or sap something else and he'll notice it and get drunk.
3. This was the best way: Mind soothe! Use this oft-forgotten priest skill and walk up close, drop the mug and run away.

We found the Brutes and Cooks were the best to try to get drunk for this quest. Brutes seemed to be the only kind that were patrolling.

Apparently you don't have to wait for one to patrol into the booze. The range at which the ogres will detect the stout is larger than their aggro range. Figure out how far you have to be for them to just barely not aggro and drop it there.

What to do

Description

I'll not take another sip of that ill-smelling muck! But it does give me an idea. <Borgrim gets a twinkle in his eye.> So here's the plan. We know that the Bloodmaul practically live off of this swill. But I wonder what their enemies, the Bladespire ogres, think of it? {name}, I want you to take the rest of this rubbish and see if you can get the Bladespire ogres tanked. You can find them by heading north from Bloodmaul Outpost through the ravine.
