Very easy way to complete this is to stand near pink beam at 53,72 and hit approaching Echos then let the pink beam wipe them out.
As of 12-December-2021, the text Velen speaks reads "I'm afraid our continued presence on Eredath has awoken more angry spirits." The audio of his voice, however, still says "... our continued presence on Mac'aree".
