Walk right outside the camp and Lil' Crazy Larry will be on your right hand side. I will submit a screen shot of him as well. If you talk to him you can choose to have him load you into the cannon. Doing this loads you in, and a few seconds later it will blast you across the water, landing on the ship. Be aware you might take some damage from this. Also, there will be 3 or so Giblins right next to where you land, so be prepared for this.
There are 3 items you need to pick up from the ship:

Extra-Pure Blasting Powder
Stack of Questionable PublicationsOne is on the deck of the ship itself, the other two are underneath the deck, in pretty much opposite sides of the ship. There are some mobs around, so be aware if you're leveling.
After picking up the 3 items, there is a cannon on the top deck you can "talk too" and it will give you the option to load yourself into the cannon. The same thing will happen, and you get shot back to where you started, next to Lil' Crazy Larry.

The powder is in the "captains room" on the 2nd floor.
The fuse is on the deck of the ship, near the mast.
The "Stack of Questionable Publications" is in the bottom floor, far end from the stairs.Also: doing this quest gives you the Going Down? achievement from using the cannons.
So has anyone ever used the cannon on the ship and had it shoot you not towards land, but instead out into open water? I did that just now, landed in fatigue waters. Not too far into it, but still, was kind of funny.
