Pit Fighter is a PvP quest for level 1-90. It rewards 1,200 experience.
There must be more to being a master pit fighter than this...
Perhaps Korgol Crushskull who runs the Darkmoon Deathmatch at the Faire will know.

The [item=5816] DOES NOT work for looting the chest in the Darkmoon Faire's arena. You CAN NOT loot the chest while under the effects, and you get a similar message to "You cannot loot that right now". It was worth a shot though. I sacrificed mine so that you could keep yours for whatever epic moment it aids you. ;) Confirmed as of 12/10/2011.
A small tip: You will have to equip the item before you can actually pick up the quest. There's no way around that so don't drive yourself bonkers trying.
Also after you've completed the quest you have to equip it via your character sheet. Right-clicking from your bags will return the message "You have completed that quest."
A great guide how to get the achievement within a single week is actualy posted in the guides section
