Pitch Black Scourgestones is a quest for level 50-60. It rewards 1 reputation reward.
The most powerful of the undead carry scourgestones imbued with the darkest magic.
We do not know from whence they came, but their power is unlike any we have encountered before.
Please relinquish any you find to the Argent Crusade. Who knows what foul evil may be lurking within them?

It appears that you must complete the previous daily EACH day before you can turn in any additional stones. Essentially, if you finish your dailies, then grind rares for a couple hours, the next day before you can turn in any stones, you MUST take the initial daily, loot more stones to be able to turn more in. Absolutely horrible decision.
The quest to hand in the stones is indeed gone and I doubt that it will return, but on a brighter note, [npc=173791] has been relocated to the Argent crusade tent (that's the large square one in the western part of the tournament grounds).
So you can still use your [currency=1754] to buy stuff.
