While informative, this last post is a bit misleading. To get the items for the quest you don't need to kill any specific beasts to get them. You just have to kill bloodscalp scavengers around the ruins at 40,29. Which are the ruins just south south-west of Nesignwary's expedition.

*Edit* Sorry at the time the post the new rare npcs were not loaded into wowhead yet. These 3 rares are not associated in any way with actually completing this quest. Just the icons needed for this quest references these 3 new rare spawns. Thanks for clarifying Sterling

What to do
Description
Ahh... these must be names of their totemic creatures - the animals that they attribute to the spirits. Let's see... Mahamba as water, Tsul'Kalu as earth, Pogeyan as... air? Fire? I can't make this part out. I'd like some more information on these spirits of theirs. The Bloodscalp have a camp close to here, in the Tkashi ruins. Maybe you can find some details there.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Water Elementals
I arrived in Stranglethorn to study a feature known as the Altar of Naias, but made the unfortunate choice of denying Colonel Kurzen's advances, which earned me several years in that cage. Now that I'm out, I figure I might as well continue with my original studies.
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- You Can Take the Murloc Out of the Ocean...
I need something to cut into the raw, elemental power of these bracers... something strong and abrasive, but still of the sea. The Murkgill murlocs have moved inland from the sea, but they still carry vials of sea salt on them.
