TheWoWDBAbsolutely ridiculous quest vs what other professions have to do (a few ore, a few cloth, etc). These mats have such a low drop rate and sell for so much I'm almost convinced you're better off not doing it until it inevitably gets changed.

Guys. Instead of complaining, how about helping. What are we suppose to kill for this quest?
Did some farming for this today and noticed that if the target has the Knife in your minimap and you use the "Sharpen your Knife" skill before skinning you get "extras". I got 3 plumage from one Glistening Hawkstrider and 2 Canine from an Arcane Wyrm this way.
I also found the drop rate for the Canine was better on the Nether Rays to the south on the map indicated above.

Description
In battle, appearances are nearly as important as raw skill. If you can intimidate your foe before you've even drawn your sword, you're already that much closer to victory. Our fletchers take this a step further and insist that beautiful feathers make our Farstriders' arrows do more damage. I'm... not certain about that, but I can appreciate the aesthetic. Here's a list of what they need for this week's batch of arrows. Supply whatever you can and I'll handle the rest.
