Make sure you add the bait, and then use the pheromone mixture. I had no problem with this quest. I found the rock at 70,40 right in the middle of a bunch of juvenile bloodpetals

As of this date, I found the rock (definitely not black at this point, shades of green) at [70.1, 40.9]. This is the approximate center of the rock.
/way Un'Goro Crater 70.1, 40.9 Un'Goro Flat Rock
It is about 1/2 a Gnome higher than the surrounding flat area and about 2 1/2 Gnomes long on the longest measurement in the horizontal plane.
No problems on obtaining or completing the quest other than poor precision on the stated coords and uncertainty as to which point in time rock location and/or description changed.
My suspicion is that many people were at the right spot as most of the coordinates given since Patch 4.0.3 are adequate to get one reasonably close. Perhaps many were (like I) looking for a black rock initially.
Thanks and congratulations to Pynda for getting the coords exactly right! In light of THAT, I choose to believe the rock was black at the time of Pynda's comment.
In the full disclosure department, I must admit that I had not specifically checked Pynda's coordinates before finding the rock from alternate comments.
Error on other coordiates given:
"70.1 - 41.0" 2 yards
"70,41" 3 yards
"70,40" and "70, 40" 22 yardsInterestingly, the "70, 40" is the only characterization which can be successfully copied and pasted into the text entry box for use with Tomtom (which IMO is the "gold standard" of coordinate addons) following an entry of "/way ". Each of the others will require "massaging" to get a valid waypoint.
FYI, in Tomtom coordinates, the comma between the two coordinate entries is strictly optional, HOWEVER, the space is not. If you omit the space, the presence or absence of the comma can do nothing to allow a successful result.
The Un'Goro Crater Zone is quite unique in it's nearly perfect circular shape. This results in a minimum of waste for either coordinate and accordingly, the error for incorrect coordinates (whether due to lack of precision, round-off (correctly rounded or not), or typographical error) is much smaller for Un'Goro than a zone which covers much more real estate in one coordinate than the other.
In many zones, the 22 yards above (presumably an incorrect round off, unadvisable truncation, or perhaps the user was not displaying to the first decimal point in the coordinate display) would become an error well in excess of a hundred yards.
As a matter of personal preference, I try to provide a fully functional Tomtom coordinate entry including the proper zone identification.

Description
This will be the most difficult part because there is some complexity to the plan. Continue following the river to the north, and look for a bend in the river. It was here I saw Lar'korwi last. You will know you are in the right area because of all the bones from massive creatures that once wandered nearby. Take the meat you recovered and place it there. Then, rub this mixture I created on the meat. If both lures mingled together do not bring Lar'korwi to you, then I know nothing else that will.
