What Each Racial Does
- Aerial Halt
Flap back, reducing forward movement.
- Battle Visage
Activate to automatically assume your Visage whenever you are not casting draconic spells such as Fire Breath and Soar.
- Chosen Identity
Activate to automatically assume your Visage when you leave combat.
- Discerning Eye
Increases your Perception by 2%. Perception increases your ability to spot rare reagents while gathering.
- Empowered Soaring
Your Soar is empowered after co-opting new flight techniques from the dragons of the Dragon Isles. Soar is now equivalent to dragonriding, granting access to vigor and all dragonriding abilities.
- Familiar Skies
Soar's cooldown is reduced by 1 min on continents that you have fully explored.
- Glide
Reduces your falling speed. You can activate this ability with the jump key while falling.
- Skyward Ascent
Flap upward, gaining height at the cost of some momentum. Max 1 Charge
- Soar
Muster your strength and launch into the air.
- Visage
Switch between your Dracthyr and Visage forms. Your Visage emanates magic, significantly increasing out-of-combat health regeneration for your party.
- Wing Buffet
With a powerful flap of your wings, knock away enemies in front of you.
11 of the 16 racial abilities the client teaches this race carry tooltip text in the current build. The rest are passive hooks with no description of their own.
In the Character Creator
- The client's own ChrRaces row names Evoker as this race's default class, which is the specialization the character creator lands on before you touch anything.
- Azeroth's bestiary files Dracthyr under the Humanoid creature type, the same classification the game uses on every NPC that shares the body.
- Visage (row 76) is the form this race wears out of combat.
Appearance Options
- The character creator ships 42 distinct appearance options for Dracthyr, 42 on Body Type 1 and 42 on Body Type 2, worth 546 individual settings between them.
- Body Type 1 alone carries 273 of those settings.
- Body Type 2 alone carries 273 of those settings.
- Horns is the widest single slider at 20 settings.
- Both bodies share Primary Color, Secondary Color Strength, Secondary Color, Face, Eyesight, Eye Style, Eye Color, Ears, Horn Color, Horns, Cheek and Brow.

Who Is Playing Dracthyr
- Our rated PvP crawl currently holds 13,758 Dracthyr characters, the 7th largest of the 26 races it has seen.
- The classes they play most are Evoker (10,638, 77%), Priest (917, 7%), Warlock (592, 4%), Hunter (433, 3%) and Warrior (412, 3%).
- 7 different classes appear on Dracthyr characters in that sample.
- The body split across those characters is 50% male and 50% female.
- In the Mythic Plus crawl, 581 ranked runs were set by Dracthyr characters, the deepest key among them a plus 18 and the best Mythic Plus rating 3,557.
These are counts from our own rated PvP and Mythic Plus crawls, last refreshed 2026-09-20. They say who is playing the race right now. They are not the character creator's list of allowed classes: the client keeps that in CharBaseInfo, which this datamine does not carry, so a class missing from the list above only means nobody in the sample is playing it.
