Where you hear it
auctionwindowopen.ogg greets you every time an auctioneer's window opens. Goblin auctioneers have run the trade halls since launch, and the sound has stayed with the window through every redesign of the Auction House interface. Gold makers who scan prices several times a day hear it constantly, more than almost any other window sound. The tone has a pleasant, slightly expectant quality, which suits a marketplace. That association with money is why sellers use it for sale and payment alerts.
TriggerPlays when you interact with an auctioneer and the Auction House window opens.

Notification sound
Over a text, a two-second tone gold makers already associate with money registers instantly and is hard to confuse with a stock phone chime.
