How to Set a WoW Sound as an iPhone Ringtone
Step by step: put a World of Warcraft sound on your iPhone as a ringtone or text tone, using the Files app on iOS 26 or a computer on older versions.

An iPhone ringtone is an AAC audio file with the .m4r extension, no longer than about 30 seconds for a ringtone. Every sound page on this site that is short enough offers that exact file, so there is nothing to convert. The steps below use the Files app, which is the quickest route on iOS 26.
- Open the page for the sound you want, for example the level-up fanfare, and tap the button labelled iPhone ringtone (.m4r).
- Safari asks whether to download the file. Tap Download. When it finishes, tap the download arrow in the address bar and choose the file, or open the Files app and look in the Downloads folder on iCloud Drive or On My iPhone.
- Open the .m4r file in Files. It plays a short preview. Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen.
- In the share sheet, scroll the list of actions and tap Use as Ringtone. On iOS 26 this option appears for audio files that meet the ringtone rules.
- Open Settings, then Sounds & Haptics, then Ringtone. The new sound is listed at the top under Ringtones. Tap it to make it your default ringtone.
- To use it for messages instead, go to Settings, Sounds & Haptics, Text Tone, and pick it from the same list. You can also give one contact their own sound from the Contacts app: open the contact, tap Edit, then Ringtone.
On an iPhone that is not yet on iOS 26, the Use as Ringtone action is missing. The older route still works: connect the phone to a Mac with Finder or a Windows PC with the Apple Devices app, select the phone, and drag the .m4r file onto the General pane. It syncs into the ringtone list. GarageBand on the phone can also export a ringtone, but it takes more taps than either method above.
If the sound is not listed after these steps, check the file name still ends in .m4r and not .m4a or .mp3, since some download managers rename files. A clip longer than the ringtone limit is rejected, which is why the long music tracks on this site do not offer the ringtone button. Short alerts such as the quest complete chime or the whisper ping make the best text tones because they are over before the screen lights up.
