Ready Check
The raid leader's ready check: a sharp bell that demands a click on Ready or Not Ready.

Where you hear it
A ready check opens a Ready / Not Ready prompt on every raider's screen, and this tone announces it. Blizzard mixed it to be heard even when the game is in the background, since its whole job is to pull people back to the keyboard before a pull. Raid leaders fire it before every boss attempt, so a single night of progression can mean dozens of them. Boss-mod addons offer options to play it through the master channel so it still sounds with in-game effects muted. Long-time raiders often flinch at it outside the game, which says a lot about how well it works.
TriggerPlays for every group member when the leader or an assistant starts a ready check with /readycheck.

Use it as
Ringtone
Ready Check runs 2.9 seconds, enough for one full play before most people pick up, and it loops back cleanly.
Notification sound
Over a text, a three-second double chime built to reach players who have tabbed out registers instantly and is hard to confuse with a stock phone chime.
Discord soundboard
On a soundboard the 2.9-second Ready Check clip lands and finishes before anyone has to stop talking.
Alarm
As an alarm, Ready Check was built to be heard over game audio, and it loops without a gap until you are up.
