Where you hear it

The raid warning channel exists to shout instructions over the chaos of a boss fight, and raidwarning.ogg is the audio half of that shout. The message appears in big letters in the middle of every raider's screen at the same moment. Boss-mod addons reuse the sound for their own urgent alerts, so the tone became linked with 'move now' moments. It is short and sharp, mixed to cut through spell effects. Many raiders can identify it from a single beat.

TriggerPlays when a raid leader or assistant posts to the raid warning channel (/rw), alongside large centre-screen text.

Use it as

Ringtone

On a phone call the 1.3-second Raid Warning clip is over in a blink, so set it to loop and let it repeat until you answer.

Notification sound

Over a text, a 1.3-second alert mixed to cut through combat noise registers instantly and is hard to confuse with a stock phone chime.

Discord soundboard

On a soundboard the 1.3-second Raid Warning clip lands and finishes before anyone has to stop talking.

Alarm

As an alarm, Raid Warning was built to be heard over game audio, and it loops without a gap until you are up.

  3. Pick an event such as Notification, click Browse, choose the WAV, then Apply.
