All damage for L30 talents is negligible and should be ignored. These are healing abilities.
Chi Burst
- Chi Burst heals the monk for 78.9% of his Attack Power then travels to its target healing all targets in its path for 78.9% AP.
- It is capped at 6 targets for a theoretical maximum heal of 473.4% AP.
- Primarily useful for Mistweavers healing clustered players.
Chi Wave
- [spell=132463] heals 4 times for 70.125 AP, total healing of 280.5% AP.
- The caster gets all 4 heal "bounces" when soloing, making Chi Wave a very attractive choice.
- When not solo, Chi Wave is not a great choice for any spec as it either won't save your life or isn't worth the heavy DPS or damage mitigation tradeoff.
Zen Sphere
- [spell=124081] heals 8 times for 23% AP over 16 seconds, total healing of 184%.
- It is the only single-target L30 talent, but it takes a long time to do its healing, which makes it much less useful.
- It may be situationally useful on sustained damage, but generally speaking is not worth taking.
Zen Sphere: Detonate
- [spell=124101] heals all targets within 10 yards of the target for 82.125% AP.
- Like Chi Burst, it is capped at 6 targets for a theoretical maximum heal of 492.75% AP.
- If Zen Sphere was more attractive Zen Sphere: Detonate might be worthwhile for MW, considering that it basically heals like Chi Burst for the same cost. But that is not the case. It is at best situationally useful.
Choices
Brewmaster: Does not matter. Brewmasters don't have sufficient Chi to use all their tanking abilities on cooldown, and cannot spare any for a weak heal. If soloing as Brewmaster, take [spell=132463].Windwalker: Does not matter. None of these abilities heal enough to be worth the heavy DPS tradeoff. If soloing, take [spell=132463].
Mistweaver: Take Chi Burst. If soloing, take [spell=132463].
Melee healing Mistweavers, don't let the cast time discourage you from choosing this talent, as auto-attacks continue during the cast.
Tooltip
Hurls a torrent of Chi energy up to 40 yds forward, dealing Nature damage to all enemies, and healing to the Monk and all allies in its path. Healing and damage reduced beyond 5 targets.
Casting Chi Burst does not prevent avoiding attacks.
