Well shaman and mages just lost some of their importance, but overall its just another addition Blizzard implemented to make it easier for any group to get the job done. Being a Shaman myself it can be a little infuriating to see our main raid benefit get marginalized, but I guess its for the greater good, right?
I will note that this provides a 25% boost to raid or party haste for 40 seconds, while Bloodlust/Heroism & Time Warp provide a 30% boost. So the class buff over the drums will still be the preferred method for the more challenging content.

I definitely see what you're saying, but it is nice for someone like myself. My raid group is having issues recruiting mages and shaman, so this is perfect for us.
