Interestingly, if you get this mount on one of your Horde characters you will automatically have the Alliance version available to any Alliance characters on the same account.

The 3D model looks sort of like it is wearing a Helmet of Ten Storms.
Although obviously I'm pretty sure its either coincidence or based on the Horde crest
well most of the horde are shamanistic in some way so that might explain the similarity in the design
