Tailoring

If you are having problems lvling up your tailoring, go to the trade channel and advertise that you are willing to make any item (within your skill) free of charge as long as the person has the materials... That is how I got my tailoring from lvl 200 to 260 within about 15 mins. Just make sure to go on the AH and pick up some rare recipes that you can use, and the people will come!

Always try to make orange or yellow items, as these give you a large amount of xp, usually bringing you to the next level. Try not to make green ones, and definitely don't create grey ones - these give no xp at all.
Also, you often face the choice of either using more cloth or more of other 'non-cloth' materials such as pearls, leather, etc. Browse around on the AH and see how much the other materials cost, then judge for yourself to see which way will be the most efficient. Often it is better to use more cloth, as they can be obtained relatively easily.

Try to make items which sell well too, because this can give you large amounts of money which can be used to buy materials. Good selling ones are often bags and items which can twink - low level requirements with good stats.

Before deciding to undertake Tailoring as a profession you should go through the list of cloth items to see if any of them will benefit your own character at some point. Since most Priests, Mages, and Warlocks take up Tailoring as a profession it's potential for profit is little to none. If you don't believe many of the items will help you as you climb your character to level 60 then wait until you've hit level 40-50 to even begin the profession as materials are scarcely available at the higher levels without paying a lot of gold you probably wouldn't have at a lower level.
