Let Me Solo Him: Zekvir

Definitely a reference to the legendary Elden Ring player Let Me Solo Her.

If I don't get a Jar helmet, I will be IMMENSELY disappointed.

UPDATE - 15.02.2025 - End of Season
Tried him again at ilvl 622. It took a few goes to relearn the fight but he's definitely a lot easier now if you're looking to get the achievement before the season ends!

I'm in my Deathbringer tank dps gear (lots of crit) and I haven't really changed my Unholy spec much since launch so I don't think these things matter too much. I would say Clawing Shadows and a health pot are a must have!

UPDATE - 06.10.2024 - Post Hotfix
Another hotfix sometime last week has made this possible again! There is still a substantial amount of white damage (auto attacks) going out and it can be frustrating if you play a class without a magic dispel or immunity, this is because he can crit you with a melee attack at the same time the dot from his spittle ability ticks which will do just over 5m total within a GCD.

Certainly doable by most classes now! Remember using a freedom ability (Blessing of Freedom / Tiger's Lust / Druid Shapeshift) will also remove the DoT. DKs can use Anti-Magic Shell just before the cast finishes to avoid the ability too.

UPDATE - 13.09.2024 - Post Hotfix
A recent hotfix to delves has suddenly made this fight insanely out of reach for me. Zekvir now slaps Brann into another plane of existence almost immediately with me shortly behind! The scaling on delves in general is strange and this hotfix doesn't feel quite right either, so right now I'm convinced there will be further adjustments or this boss isn't supposed to be possible until Brann hits max level. I will keep updating with further attempts!

If you want to just see the boss's abilities, then my video is still useful. The general tactics will remain the same, it's just very very hard to survive his damage when Brann isn't tanking it all for you.

OLD - 11.09.2024 - Pre-hotfix

Earned this today as an ilvl 596 Unholy DK, my strategy was to let my level 18 Brann (4/4 Idol of Final Will + 4/4 Amorphous Relic) solo the boss while I stayed alive. That's not even exaggerating too much either, Brann did 64% of the damage and his devilsaur did 14% - so I contributed the remaining 22%.

With such low gear the fight is quite RNG dependent, Brann's Final Will timings had to line up with the eggs spawning or I would not be able to kill them and it would be really hard to recover. If you're struggling with this fight I recommend taking the first phase slow and saving your CDs for immediately after he finishes channeling "Black Blood" at around 50-60% HP.

Unholy DK is great for this fight because as long as you kick his heal you can always use Anti-Magic Shell to prevent his poison from applying. Brann will sometimes use his kick too and I always saw him use it very quickly, so if the cast gets to the half way point you can assume he isn't kicking the cast. If an add did spawn I tried to use stuns and death grips to stop its casts, however if the add got a cast off in the second phase I would almost certainly die.

EDIT: Something I forgot to add, I have /petattack bound to my Scourge Strike and this seemed to help with getting Brann to hit the eggs (might have just been the devilsaurs) so if you are a non-pet class maybe using a /petattack macro could be useful!

What is the strategy to beat Zekvir?
Unfortunately my recording software was disabled for my first kill, but I did it again and recorded a much cleaner attempt. The only consumables I used were Flask of Alchemical Chaos and an Algari Healing Potion (both silver quality). The video shows the strategy better than I could write out in a comment. It is honestly very simple when compared to the Mage Tower fights in Legion and Shadowlands, it is just gear checked pretty hard especially at this point in the season. If you really want the void skin for the delver's dirigible I think this is going to be quite easy to do late into the season.

How do I unlock this delve?
I believe it was officially announced (or it's at least listed on WoWhead's guide here: https://www.wowhead.com/guide/the-war-within/achievements/glory-of-the-delver) that you have to clear every delve on T11 to unlock this one. I can confirm that is definitely not true. I cleared every delve on T3 and only Earthcrawler Mines up to T11 as I believe it is the easiest one. No shade to the author of that WoWhead guide, that was written with the information we had at the time of its publication and it's clear Blizzard has changed their minds or there is some sort of bug.

What Brann build did you use?
DPS Brann with 4/4 Idol of Final Will and 4/4 Amorphous Relic. These were the only 4/4 curios that I had going into the fight and I think I got very lucky because they feel incredibly strong. I thought you could upgrade the curios by collecting multiple lower level tiers, but I now don't think this is true. I got both of my 4/4 curios from T8 bountiful delves (Zekvir dropped another on the first kill).
