We tried this today on 10man with 9 people in the raid. Everyone did the strike correctly, but we did not receive credit.

Without a doubt, much easier to accomplish on 10 man.
Having a hunter use Aspect of the Pack makes this incredibly easy. As long as you do the dance when no adds are up, the only thing that can daze you is the cleaves themselves, in which case you've already failed (the Titan's Gas doesn't daze).
That extra speed boost makes it almost impossible to fail.
