I had gold with all races, so I tried challenge mode. Devs were lazzy to do more races so they were like "let's just do the same without any boosts during the races". It's indeed way more difficult, but also sooooooo boring. How is that possible that you made this live, ain't no way lmfao

Overall I think I was expecting these to be a lot harder, at least for waking shores most of the races were easy

Some tactics you need to consider as you don't get any help in the form of extra vigour or speed boosts so that the only vigour gain you get is through your speed or being close to the ground.
As being close to the ground does not add a lot, at least not quick enough then speed is the way to gain vigour

The general tactics to follow allowed me to get gold on most of the challenges with only a few tries, there were some that were more difficult due to the times being tight

Mostly use surge at the start to get your initial speed unless the first ring is above your level then you will use skyward ascent and surge after that.
Use Skyward ascent to gain height.
Aim to be flying down as much as possible as this helps to maintain your speed which you need to get vigour back
Use surge when you are not flying angled down.
Don't be tempted to use surge when your flying angled down as likely you will need the vigour later in the race
Be careful not to use skyward ascent if the height you want to gain is small, surge will be better at gaining the height and maintaining you speed
Be careful using surge to get past obstacles as it may be better to fly slightly slower to avoid them and then surge after.

Overall basic flying tactics will get you silver easily, there are some routes that are more challenging, only one is causing me difficulty on Gold and that is Uktuluk coaster which I am a couple of 1/10th second out at the moment.
