Alexi Barov

For those of you, Horde side, looking to add him to your army.
After you've added the lumber mill to your garrison he can be found under the "fallen tree" at 74,28 just outside of Vol'jin's Pride in Talador.

Weldon Barov(Alliance), or Alexi Barov (Horde), is a follower that hangs out in your Lumber Mill and sells [item=116452]. Followers and NPCs often share the same name, and most that we acquire from the world have a special identity (NPC ID Number). In this case, you would find the follower listed as Weldon Barov, Alexi Barov, or even as ... Weldon Barov - Alexi Barov which is the combined Alliance - Horde followers that share the same functions.

It is Weldon Barov(Alliance), or Alexi Barov (Horde), that sells [item=116452]; and gives the quest Reduction in Force/Reduction in Force, which is one of the three steps required for Upgrading the Mill that enables you to purchase [item=109255].

#2. Complete Reduction in Force (Alliance) or Reduction in Force (Horde)
- cut down lumber until [npc=11022] spawns, with his "band of brothers", or [npc=11023] spawns with his gnome harem. Kill [npc=11022]/[npc=11023] and loot [13469]/[item=13470]. They do not really spawn after you cut the tree down like the other mobs involved in these quests. You will simply see a dot for the tree you want to chop down, but when you arrive, the tree will not gear up with the sawblade cursor, and there will be a little group of hostile mobs surrounding it. You may not be able to target them immediately, but when you are close enough and they are in the mood, they will assault you and you can then kill them.

FINDING Weldon Barov :

Once you build a Lumber Mill and have [spell=167911] , you can save Weldon Barov and recruit him to your garrison. It seems [npc=85378] had a tree fall upon him and he needs you to remove the [object=235094] with your [spell=167911] or [spell=167946].

[object=235094] can be found in many places and many zones. I have raised 2 characters since the expansion and raised 4 in the beta testing phase. All of my characters got Weldon Barov in the same place. I recommend:

Fly to Terrokar Refuge, Talador and across the lake/river to the southeast (just a few yards away) is the [object=235094] (uncertain of the respawn timer, but it is not too long). Use [spell=167911] (or [spell=167946]) on the [object=235094] (the sawblade cursor will appear, and [object=235094] shows on the minimap just as [object=234109] does). Loot whatever item is offered -- THEN WAIT for [npc=85378] to appear. Eventually he will appear, and you talk to him. You will complete The Rise and Fall of Barov Industries: Weldon Barov to get [spell=170551] . Weldon Barov is now one of your Followers. When you return to your garrison, Weldon Barov will be standing at the front area of your Lumber Mill, offering you Reduction in Force.

[object=235094] can be found in many places and many zones. I have raised 2 characters since the expansion and raised 4 in the beta testing phase. All of my Alliance characters found the [object=235094] got Weldon Barov in the same place. I went there with my Horde character and there was nothing. Perhaps it is totally random or changes ever so often. In which case my Alliance characters could have won the lottery with the odds against that happening.

Fly to Exarch's Refuge, Talador where all the questing is done for the "Tomb of Lights". Norhtwest of the "Tomb of Lights" is a small body of water with a bridge going over it. Just at the edge of the southwest side of the bridge in the grass was the [object=235094]. Use [spell=167911] (or [spell=167946]) on the [object=235094] (the sawblade cursor will appear, and [object=235094] shows on the minimap just as [object=234109] does). Loot whatever item is offered -- THEN WAIT for [npc=85378] to appear. Eventually he will appear, and you talk to him. You will complete The Rise and Fall of Barov Industries: Weldon Barov to get [spell=170551] . Weldon Barov is now one of your Followers. When you return to your garrison, Weldon Barov will be standing at the front area of your Lumber Mill, offering you Reduction in Force.

Both characters of Weldon Barov(Alliance) and Alexi Barov (Horde) might refer to the names of 3 chess-masters:

You need to ensure that this follower is active and not on the mission to make Reduction in Force obtainable/returnable in your garrison.
