Same model as Grayson's Torch (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=1172#c0z), except held in the mainhand. The two make an excellent pair for anyone who wants to 'dual wield' torches, but who can't actually dual wield (this mace is Unique anyway).

the above poster is correct, however if you're horde, you might consider getting yourself a http://www.wowhead.com/?item=25091 Mistyreed torch, since it is also held in offhand but doesn't come of an alliance quest :) this post is only useful for people interested in the cosmetic department of this game :)

To make my above post more complete: The quest The Coastal Menace (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=104) that gives Grayson's Torch (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=1172) is available to hordies as well, even though sources say "alliance only" might be a bug, might be a feature, however the purpose of this post is to say "yes, you can get the offhand torch as well hordies"

Couldn't find an approximation of the dps the proc adds anywhere on the net, so tried the calculation myself. The DoT component is tricky, if someone knows a better way, please post it. Proc DPS: ~3.55 Weapon DPS: ~27.55 A comment on Allakhazam suggests the proc rate is about once every 4 or 5 hits. Lets say once every 5 hits, or 20%. First, the DD component: (D*P)/S = DD dps (D=damage;P=Proc Chance;S=weapon speed) (40dmg * .2)/2.6 = ~3dps. Second, the DoT: 9dmg over 6s, or +3dmg every 2s for 6s. This DoT can potentially proc every 2.6s, and when it does it overwrites itself if still applied from the last proc, complicating things. What is the discounted present expected payout of the DoT? It has a 20% chance of occurence every 2.6s. There is a 20% chance it will be overwritten at t+2.6s, and another 20% to be overwritten at t+5.2s. To approximate this, calculate the expected payout of the three different scenarios: (D * P * O) where D=Dmg, P=Proc chance, O=Scenario chance. 1) The DoT is overwritten on the next swing, 2.6s later, in which case it causes only 3dmg. O=20%. (3 * .2 * .2) = ~ .12dmg 2) the DoT is overwritten on the next swing after that, 5.2s later, in which case is causes 6dmg. O=20%. (6 * .2 * .2) = ~.24dmg 1) The the proc does not occur again until after the DoT has expired. Full DoT dmg occurs. O=100%-40% = 60%. (9 * .2 * .6) = ~1.08dmg Sum the expected payouts and divide by weapon speed for dps approximation: 1.44/2.6 = ~.55dps Total proc dps = 3 + ~.55 = ~3.55 Total weapon dps = ~27.55

For priest to use this for transmog. combined with Torch of Austen and Mistyreed Torch would be awesome. Awesome to the max.

Been farming for this for quite some time. Manage to snag it over a year a go for my 39 twink rogue, but now with transmog I would like to have it on my main rogue. The drop rate is horrendously low, and I have never sold so much silk cloth in my life; but i will not quit till the thing drops. p.s. it looks nice with a life stealing enchant placed on it.

When this mace is used for transmog it does NOT show up on you hip. It only shows when you press z to view weapons or go to attack something. Pretty cool to look like you're not carrying a weapon around with you. It does show the enchant - with power torrent it look extra bright and fiery!

As far as I can tell, this is the ONLY mace (possibly weapon) in the game that is invisible while sheathed. Excellent for transmog as you can hide your weapons from showing on your hip. I've uploaded screenshots of both sheathed (invisible) and unsheathed (personal light source) taken at night. Current prices for this item on Undermine Journal put it anywhere between 4000g to 8000g, however after looking to buy one for 2 weeks at 10000g I lucked out on a drop. Do not sell this too cheap, check the going rate before you list it.

As of 11/07/12, I received a message stating the item's appearance cannot be transmogrified. To note, I was using a "main hand" item, while this is "one hand." It is also interesting that as a Monk when I equip this item, it is visible while sheathed on my back unlike other classes. It also started to cause some massive screen tearing which ultimately required a restart to fix. :)

This weapon is awesome for a monk transmog when you want to go for that "weaponless brawler" look. For some reason the weapons don't show up on your back when you transmog them to this brand. They only show up when you enter combat and use special abilities.

For anyone who would like to transmog this item, but finds themselves horribly let down by the way it does not show out of combat, I found a look-a-like option. [item=26049] and [item=9359] look similar to [item=9386]'s base model. If you add [item=38838] you get a very close effect to the original. Sadly, it does not light up the area like [item=9386] does, but it will show through your transmog and IMO looks pretty cool on a monk. I will post a screenshot of this soon.

Just checked this mace on AH.. Had it in my bag, thinking i would use it as mog on one of my toons. My jaw completely dropped, when i saw the price of it. I literally have no clue about, where i have it from xD Trying to sell it for 5,5k on AD atm.

Dropped in Uldaman 0030h 21 Jan 2019 Windrunner Server. No idea what off of, have had two drop today from random mobs, looted a big pile and there it was. Confirming still dropping from last post of over a year ago.

Update: Just looted two in a row in 2 runs, in Uldaman, 23 Mar 19. First big group of Stonevault Oracles, Pillagers, Ambushers, and Cave Lurkers were dragged into the Map Room, got the first one from the pile of bodies. Second one dropped from Revelosh himself.
