I've killed over 50 Sons of Arkkoroc so far and have yet to see the pattern drop. Drop rate is very random. Getting the pattern in 4 kills only qualifies it as not a painful farm for you. Most should prepare to spend a good hour's worth of killing before seeing the pattern drop.

It's so stupid that even thought Blizzard FINALLY add it back into the game, they make it cost far more than it should, meaning you can at best get one while the right Timewalking is up.

It's as if Blizzard go out of their way to spit in the face of their playerbase.

In my experience, this is one of the easier stormshroud patterns to get. Just swim out into the bay of storms in azshara, then find the sons (can't miss them, they are giants with big hammers). Then basically you can either solo them if you are a warlock, balance druid, or mage or 2 man if you are a meleer (bring a healer). From what i have seen you can find one of these bad boys in a half an hour of actively fighting the sons, sometimes less.

Not the easiest pattern I've ever farmed - had a bit of trouble at level 55 with a 54 friend, druid and rogue. The swimming around looking for the spawns was actually the hardest bit... dropped after about 20 kills which took close on an hour. Still worth it.

At lvl 70 killing them was easy enough, but I killed them for two hours, and didn't get the stupid pattern. Its the last one I need for the set too. Of course nobody else kills them any more so I can't find it on the Auction House.

This pattern is Bind on Equip, so if you're farming it at 70, take a friend and split up, because the spawn points for the giants are few and far between. That being said, myself and a mage friend got the pattern on our 4th kill, so it's not a painful one to farm.

I came back to playing after about 5 years being away and had a stack of old patterns - including this one. There were no others in the Auction House for me to compare, so I just kind of guessed. It sold for $3500 gold in less than 12 hours!
