Silithus.....Thorium Veins all over the place....Above as well as under ground.
1 trip around the WHOLE map = 272 Ore, 10 Arcane Crystall & 8 other Gem's and enough Dense Stone to make 71 Dense Grinding Stones
Ive been there in my young days, but now the density is trippled.....
In my experience (which is extensive) the best place to farm thorium ore is Silithus, which I believe was stated above, due to the rate at which you will encounter a node AND the chance of that node being a rich one. I do not know if they have buffed the rate at which nodes spawn, spawn locations, etc., but in literally 1 hour I can have x12 stacks of thorium ore by running a route around Silithus. The downside: stacks on my server are going for 10g.
It's probably worth more in ore now then bars because of prospecting in burning crusade, you can obtain gems out of it.
