WoW Patch 12.1.5 Guide: Everything New in Midnight
Patch 12.1.5 went live on October 13, 2026. Here is what is new in Midnight, what to do first, and which features unlock later in the month.
Patch 12.1.5 went live in the Americas on October 13, 2026. It is the mid-season update for Midnight Season 2, and it brings five headline features. Not everything opens on day one. Ascendant Venomstones and the crest cap removal wait until the week of October 20.
What to do first
- Start the new story campaign, The Promise of Tomorrow. It returns you to Quel'Thalas and Zul'Aman and sets up the Coiled Isle, where the new raid boss lives.
- Open the Labyrinth of Kindo'jan. Clear the first chamber, the Chamber of Rites, once. That opens the rest of the Labyrinth for your whole Warband, so do it on your main first. Full Labyrinth guide.
- Catch an Aqir Invasion. They run for 10 minutes every hour in Eversong Woods or Zul'Aman. Aqir Invasion guide.
- Pick up Orin Straylight's weekly quest in Silvermoon City. This week's quest, Ancient Depths, Ancient Venom, starts the research that becomes Ascendant Venomstones next week.
- Kill Kith'ix. The new single-boss raid is open on every difficulty. Kith'ix raid guide.

The weekly timeline
Patch 12.1.5 is staged across three weekly resets. Orin Straylight in Silvermoon City drives most of it.
- Week of October 6: Orin's Umbral Blessings of the Catalyst quest went up. Finish it and you can trade gold, Voidlight Marl, or Veteran Mistcrests for 1 extra Nebulous Voidcore per week, on top of the usual bonus roll sources. The prep quests are In the Catalyst's Shadow from Decimus in Voidstorm, and Prismatic Potential from Orin.
- Week of October 13 (now): Orin offers Ancient Depths, Ancient Venom. This starts his Venomstone research.
- Week of October 20: Orin offers Ascending with Venomstones, Venomstones begin to drop, and the crest cap is lifted.
Mythic+: Keystone Myth returns
The second-half-of-season challenge is back. Midnight Keystone Myth: Season 2 asks for a Mythic+ rating of 3600 during Season 2. It awards the Venomous Contender title and the Timelost Saddle. Blizzard is also tuning individual dungeons that are running harder than the rest. The patch fixes a bug where Zaen Bladesorrow's Murder in a Row could assign your safe spot to the wrong barrel. Warband reputation for Legion and Battle for Azeroth
Legion and Battle for Azeroth reputations are now shared across your Warband. If you farmed a Legion or BfA faction on one character, your alts now carry that standing. That makes old allied race unlocks, rep-gated mounts and transmog vendors much cheaper to reach on alts. Blizzard has not published a per-faction exception list. Prey changes
Prey gets a catch-up system and one rule change.
- Below rank 4: each of your first 4 hunts in a week grants 4,000 Journey progress, a full rank, in place of the normal amount.
- Ranks 4 to 9: each of your first 4 hunts in a week grants 2,000 Journey progress.
- Afflicted and Tormented Souls can no longer be used during an active hunt. Spend them between hunts.
Housing changes
- Page Up and Page Down now move between floors in floorplan edit mode.
- The blueprint button in Housing Controls now jumps straight to your Blueprint collection.
- Exporting a stairwell now includes every vertically connected room.
- The blueprint contents list only shows dyes you applied with dye items, not dyes already baked into decor.
- Dye tooltips now name the dye item used.
- Public Neighborhoods no longer get the same Endeavor twice in a row.
- Crafted decor from pre-Midnight professions costs less to make.
What 12.1.5 means for your gold
Every big patch moves the Auction House. Raid and Labyrinth loot is all Bind on Pickup, so the gold is in what people use to clear them: flasks, food, enhancements and crafted gear. The Season 2 Tidal Crafted weapon, trinket and necklace slots also gain a reason to be crafted at maximum quality, because Venomstones can upgrade them.
