For all you transmoggers out there, [item=20194] is an equivalent shoulder piece for horde druids/rogues, and only costs 130 honor. Alliance equivalent is [item=20060]
The mobs that drop this pattern no longer exist in the game. I have not personally found an alternate drop spot for the Pattern: Stormshroud Shoulders. It may very well be that it hasn't found a new home yet to drop from...
As of 9.1, this recipe will now be sold by the Cataclysm Timewalking vendor, Kiatke, for Timewarped Badge x1500.

Getting any unique drop quickly should never be described as 'easy', it is in fact 'lucky'. Some people could take your comment the wrong way.
The Sons of Arkkoroc share spawns with the Servants of Arkkoroc. If you're farming the pattern, it's best to just kill all of the giants, giving you more Son spawns.
Since the Cata came to town, these elites are no longer in this area. Anyone have any ideas where they can be found now?
Other options are Exceptional Stormshroud Shoulders, Wyrmtongue Shoulders, and Flamscarred Shoulders.
You can buy this as of 9.1 whenever Cataclysm Timewalking is up. The vendor is the same Cataclysm Timewalking vendor as before, located in Orgrimmar/Stormwind and it costs 1500 badges.Happy farming!
got the pattern after about 12 "son's".. killed everything to encourage respawns.. also got the armor pattern off the oracle's after 4 kills SAME TRIP ! never felt so lucky EVER.. XD

This recipe is now available from Kiatke, the Cataclysm Timewalking vendor, for 1500 [currency=1166]
I've killed over 50 Sons of Arkkoroc so far and have yet to see the pattern drop. Drop rate is very random. Getting the pattern in 4 kills only qualifies it as not a painful farm for you. Most should prepare to spend a good hour's worth of killing before seeing the pattern drop.
Prior to WotLK, it also cost an additional 3 Essence of Water and 1 Runethread to make.
Sigh...this is only one I'm missing after returning to the game.
It's so stupid that even thought Blizzard FINALLY add it back into the game, they make it cost far more than it should, meaning you can at best get one while the right Timewalking is up.
It's as if Blizzard go out of their way to spit in the face of their playerbase.
In my experience, this is one of the easier stormshroud patterns to get. Just swim out into the bay of storms in azshara, then find the sons (can't miss them, they are giants with big hammers). Then basically you can either solo them if you are a warlock, balance druid, or mage or 2 man if you are a meleer (bring a healer). From what i have seen you can find one of these bad boys in a half an hour of actively fighting the sons, sometimes less.
Not the easiest pattern I've ever farmed - had a bit of trouble at level 55 with a 54 friend, druid and rogue. The swimming around looking for the spawns was actually the hardest bit... dropped after about 20 kills which took close on an hour. Still worth it.
Killed him 3 times within 10 mins (fast respawn, 2-3 mins) to get the pattern!
At lvl 70 killing them was easy enough, but I killed them for two hours, and didn't get the stupid pattern. Its the last one I need for the set too. Of course nobody else kills them any more so I can't find it on the Auction House.
This pattern is Bind on Equip, so if you're farming it at 70, take a friend and split up, because the spawn points for the giants are few and far between. That being said, myself and a mage friend got the pattern on our 4th kill, so it's not a painful one to farm.
It was pretty easy to get im a level 55 rouge and level 57 druid friend got it after the 4th giant
Listed one for sale on Hydraxis.
Got the pattern from first kill at level 55.
Somewhere between mobs 20 and 40 this pattern dropped...and then dropped again immediately on the next mob, no joke.
I am currently farming the armor pattern, but am having less luck
I guess I got lucky or something...
3/4 dropped from Sons.
All I wanted was a lockbox!
I came back to playing after about 5 years being away and had a stack of old patterns - including this one. There were no others in the Auction House for me to compare, so I just kind of guessed. It sold for $3500 gold in less than 12 hours!
Still buying this pattern on Eu! Can switch realm if needed! xenova#2927
I'm selling one of those on Baelgun EU
How much are you asking? I am interested.
I'm selling one one Outland-EU, alliance.
